I LOVE passing out candy. I keep some really small candies close by to give to posers, who are too lazy to dress up. Love taking the kids door-to-door, too. The best part is getting the young-uns to give out candy... they learn the act of giving and enjoying giving.

Just another day to me. Although, since that wasn't an option in the poll, I chose "another consumer holiday."

Shagster won't be able to vote unless you add "A day to get high, like all other days."

Just trying to be inclusive.

Fun, candy, pumpkins, pagan, kids night out, bêtises, dress up spooky! Since I made the poll, I think it is many of the choices apply to me. Definitely, when i was a kid, I thought it was a day for kids to be bad.

It was not really a family day for us; my father thought it was goofy and my mama, she was French and did not know what the heck it was! She thought is was :mock: la Toussaint, saying, "Etre bon et restez en sécurité", my poor mama! :rain:

:chew: candy, pumpkins:chuckle::angel: don;t look at me:execute:

toss em! :jolly:

When i used devil's night in the poll, I meant 'like a little devil' not the same as satanic. More like when one says 'you little devil, you' Satanic was already covered.

Yes, I think Halloween is pagan, then so is the Easter Rabbit, and Santa Claus.

A fun day for kids to dress up in costumes and eat candy.

Yeah, and I'm just glad my kids can take their own kids out instead of me having to do it. Where I live, no kids come knocking, so I just get to enjoy seeing my grandkids' pictures posted on Facebook. It's a holiday I'm able to enjoy without having to cook anything or be bothered in any way. :chuckle:

GLORYDAZ,

The kids dress up like Axe Murderers and Ghouls and Witches

and Madonna which are all representatives of this nations HEROES.

Haven't seen any kids doing anything even close to that.

Is candy the evidence someone has been worshiping the devil or just a sticky face?

I agree, and today, there is, most likely less, kids cutting up. Parents are more afraid of strange adults today, I think?

There was no thoughts of devil worship when we tricked, years ago, not much thought period. :)

We were reckless and innocent. Our parents were not always aware of what kids got into after WWII. The 1950s was a decade made for kids!

I know, and they used to dress up like cowboys which didn't mean they worshiped horses. I will agree the choice of "heroes" is different than it was, but kids are still the same. My grandson thinks he's a ninja turtle but he still knows God created this beautiful world we live in.

The good old days really were good for kids. They don't have the freedom now that we did....to play and explore. But at least they still get to dress up and get free candy!
