Justification of Eternal Punishment

I don't understand why you are using a parable to prove that Romans 6:23 is not true.
Rom 6:23**For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

yup Jesus told us the truth the rich man received his wages

Luk 16:25**But Abraham said, Son, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things. But now he is comforted and you are tormented.
Torment is not death. Death is not torment.
Jesus told the truth,
consciousness of the departed,
fire for the unrepentant to stand in,
Luk 16:22**And it happened that the beggar died and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom. The rich one also died and was buried.
Luk 16:23**And in hell he lifted up his eyes, being in torments, and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

The wages of sin is death, not torment. Jesus agrees with Romans 6:23 because He said in Luke 13:3 "Unless you repent, you will likewise perish."
Jesus told the truth,
rich man and Lazarus died
consciousness of the departed,
Luk 16:22**And it happened that the beggar died and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom. The rich one also died and was buried.

I don't understand why you insist on arguing against what the Bible says. John 3:16 sums up the gospel message very well. Whoever accepts Jesus Christ will inherit eternal life and whoever rejects Jesus Christ will perish. Why don't you give up your false idea of eternal torture in hell and accept what Jesus Christ says?
the truth that Jesus reveals and you do not agree with.
Luk 16:19-31
Jesus reveals
already known truths such as
consciousness of the departed,
fire for the unrepentant to stand in,
a protected place with Abraham right next to the unpleasant place,
and he caps it off with
the place of torment is historical
made known to people by
Moses and the Prophets
and if you do not believe them
you will not believe one rising from the dead.

Seriously, why do you keep using this gif? You think Mr Spock would find the notion of eternal suffering logically valid? He'd be raising his eyebrows at you if he were real doofus...

Okay, it seems that you're either a nauseating kid or just an incredibly immature adult to be constantly posting such stupid gifs. If you think there's anything logical in the interminable suffering of other people then you're lacking the most basic traits of empathy and compassion, not to mention logic itself. Mr Spock would find you fascinating only as a bemusing case...

Nothing is more illogical than ECT, and worse of all, it denigrates the goodness, grace and wisdom of God. It is most illogical to love, and inimical to life. It is doctrines like this that drive people away from 'God'.

It's all a matter of 'interpretation'.......

It's all a matter of 'interpretation'.......

Which is why that story probably isn't as literal as yall swear it to be

The fact is you don't know if it's a real historical event or a myth or some mixture thereof :)

Also there are accounts of Adam & Eve not being the first humans on earth, since native populations existed from which Cain got his wife ;) .....and the plot gets thicker from there :poly: The Bible is not the only source for the history of mankind, as other records and dispensations have been granted.

In any event I doubt A & E would believe in eternal hellfire, a belief which evolved later from primitive fears and superstition, then further impressed by figurative language.

The law of karma by itself takes care of all actions, so that all souls only suffer equal to the severity of their sins, so everyone reaps what they sow, the eternal law being wholly equitable, while the reaping of life and blessings always exist as long as a soul is able to repent. The law of free will holds here and the consequences for what one chooses. Life or death, and every variation therein exists for one's free will choosing.

There's plenty there to interpret a metaphorical account of an actual event, because of the sheer symbolism within it.

Exhibit A: The Serpent
The Serpent is incontrovertibly Satan, who fell from the Heavens and whom was cursed to crawl through the dust of the Earth.

Exhibit B: The Dust of the Earth
We were created, and therefore are, the dust of the Earth- and the Serpent crawls among us.

Exhibit C: The Forbidden Fruit
Fruits are produced from the actions of people. You will know them by their fruit.

Exhibit D: The Tree of Life
The Tree of Life is undoubtedly Christ- a carpenter who built his cross, is the Vine, and whom produces good fruit.

There's more, but do you see what I am saying? The entire story is a mass of symbols.

Hell is what we incur as punishment for wickedness, just as we incur Heaven for obedience.

Newsflash: Neither of these things were known of- an afterlife does not exist in ancient Judaism, it was rather revealed in Christianity.

That's simply an alternative to Purgatory, which is a state of cleansing one's sins before Paradise.

Yes and God really should not have made a big deal out of such a little thing. After all, Adam was only human and he didn't think God was serious. I mean, it was only a bite of an apple. And he did love Eve and the snake was so convincing.
