You seem to have bits and pieces of verses. That is one of the quickest ways of being deceived . Here is the way it is presented in scripture. There is no condemnation IF we walk after the Holy Spirit. And He only quotes verses.
[Rom 8:1-2 NKJV] 1 [There is] therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
There is no "if" in Romans 8. You are adding it and making our relationship works based rather than by grace.
Romans 8:1-2
"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death."
There is no "if we walk after the Holy Spirit" in those verses. You are adding your own commentary.
The rest of Romans 8 shares whom it is that God has released from condemnation. It shares how the Spirit of God pleads on our behalf as we struggle due to our weakness. It shares how the Spirit of God intercedes for us. It goes on and says "If God is for us, who can be against us?" The answer is: No one. We are held in God's glorious grip...even when we lose our grip on God.
You see, squeaky, that's God's amazing grace. Live in the incredible joy of being set free. No rules and regulations can make us in the image of God. Only God can make us what He desires to be...and God is perfecting us according to His will, not according to some list of rules and regulations. God has set us free from the law of sin and death.
Peace
All whom God has chosen to adopt and make his children walk according to the Spirit. Those who are not adopted will walk according to the flesh. This is the point of Paul sharing the role of the Spirit in Romans 8.I said
The if is there. Read this
who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
All whom God has chosen to adopt and make his children walk according to the Spirit. Those who are not adopted will walk according to the flesh. This is the point of Paul sharing the role of the Spirit in Romans 8.
Squeaky, it's all about God's work in us by virtue of us being placed in Christ. We humans cannot better ourselves or merit a closer standing with God by our works.
When I read your initial post, it reads like a person who has created a formula for determining who is Spirit filled and who isn't. Such a formula is not given in scripture. We cannot judge our sisters and brothers by your system. Your system is legalism, not grace.

GRACE -UNSOLICITED MERCY-NEW TESTAMENT-THE LAW OF CHRIST

xxxGrace is uncilisted mercy. Grace is a new way thought up by God, we dont deserve it, we have not earned it, we didnt even think of it but God gave it to us-a new way the new testament. God looked down on us and said them dummies arent getting it I have to think of a new way. The new testament is our Grace. Now within the new testament there are commandments. Jesus brought us the new testament, this is how Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. Not knowing what the gift of grace was, so many are useing grace as an excuse to sin. Grace is not a way to justify sin, it is a better way to get rid of sin. The law of Christ is a new law. God explained that we didnt have nothing to do with His grace. It was His decision of sending Jesus with the new law.

9For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

xxx Gods grace sent us the new testament, new laws, new commandments, new covenant.
A lot of words and verses with no context. Let me make it really simple for you.
Grace = unmerited favor.
Grace = God giving us what we don't deserve.
Mercy = God not giving us what we do deserve.
Do you see the distinction between grave and mercy?
Squeaky, Satan quotes verses with no context. We see it in his attempted temptation of Jesus. I suggest that if you quote scripture, you also present the context of the entire passage surrounding it. God's word is not in a vacuum, it comes as a whole. Quoting a few sentences here and a few from there to act like you're teaching is not teaching. Instead it is an attempt to pridefully think you are winning an argument.
The point of your original post seems to be that you think determining a person's spiritual maturity can be measured by what a person does in a prescribed fashion. I believe scripture teaches that God brings us to maturity by individual paths all designed to bring glory to Jesus and his atoning work in redeeming us. We have been crucified with Christ, nevertheless we live, yet not us, but Christ lives within us. And the life we live in the flesh we live by faith in the Son of God who loves us and gave himself for us.
Let us live in the unbounded joy of our salvation. Let us encourage one another all the more while it is still light.
Peace
I said
let me make it simple for you. In Gods grace He sent us Jesus and the law of Christ. And God told Jesus everything to say and what laws to make. Who ever says that Jesus is their savior is a liar if they don't keep all of His commandments.
[1Jo 2:4
4 He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
[Jhn 14:15, 21
15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. ...
21 "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him."
[Jhn 15:10
10 "If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love.
Thanks for clarifying. Based upon your comment, I can assure you that all humans including yourself will be spending eternity in hell. You and I, as well as every human, break God's law. This is why the wages of sin is death. All fall short of the glory of God. We are all doomed...if your teaching were true.
Thankfully, God had Paul write the letter to the Galatians to refute your misuse of John. If humans were bound under the law, as you claim, then Jesus sacrificial, atoning sacrifice would be in vain. We would be without hope. But, Jesus set us free from the law and its curse. We are no longer condemned. Failing to keep the law is no longer a burden because Christ has taken our burden and punishment. We live in glorious and joy abounding grace.
Your teaching is what Paul called anathema in Galatians. He asks why anyone, once being saved by grace, would go back to the law. The answer is that no Christian would do so. Only people who don't know Jesus as their Savior would go back to the law.
Now my heart feels bad for you, squeaky. It seems you may not know God's saving grace, based upon your own words. That would be a tragedy.
Nope. Grace is not a law.I said
You have a lot to learn. Grace is a law.

xxx Grace is a free gift. Grace is uncilisited mercy. A law is something that has to be, or will happen just the way God created it to be. God gave us a new way which is through Jesus Christ(new testament). Now within that grace there are commandments to obey. The grace is the new way(new testament) but the commandments are within the new testament that we must obey to receive this grace. Jesus isnt doing it for us now. Jesus done what was done to make the new way. And now we have to receive or obey the new way.

Nope. Grace is not a law.

That's not a law.
I noticed that none of the verses you quote says that grace is a law.
Perhaps you disagree with grace and wish to be justified by the law.
Ah...so you imagine yourself to be a prophet that God speaks to and gives you special insight? You know, one wrong statement means you are a false prophet. Since you spoke incorrectly about grace, should I therefore conclude you are a false prophet? Do you know what the penalty for being a false prophet is under the law?I said
I'm sharing the revelations of Jesus Christ. I went through the three years of the milk understanding and the eleven years of the meat understanding.
