Hello all
I'm Chrys, married with two grownup kids, a registered nurse (UK National Health Service). I live in a tiny village in the middle of Wales with just one church still nominally active with very few parishioners, the other 3 churches are now closed so I am quite isolated from fellowship.
Last year I felt the need to start reading the Bible, probably for the first time in a serious way. I read it through and I need help to understand it in a deeper way. There's some of it I get quite easily and other stuff is baffling. I have KJV, (difficult) Gideon New Testament (which I read first) and The Complete Jewish Bible with New Testament Commentary. If you have any advice about teaching aids I would be grateful.
I have been here about a week now and I am liking it, people are friendly and helpful. I had a brief look into a couple of other forums ie. BBC & Christian Web before Googling and finding Theology Online.
I was in the Church of England from childhood until fairly recently for about 40 years.
Anyhow if I am to stay any longer I thought it polite to introduce myself.
