As I mentioned to rocketman: I'd admired the Mormons for the strong stance (and persecution) they took for traditional marriage during the Prop 8 fight in California. Of course based on your defense of homosexuality, that would make the Mormons your natural enemy (their doctrinal beliefs have absolutely nothing to do with it).

I find it interesting that AMR is a Calvinist (not hard to see his denominational status. Right above his avatar to the left). From what I've seen, for every Mormon bashing thread here on TOL there's probably a hundred Calvinist bashing threads.

Just an observation from a Christian who doesn't belong to the "My church is better than your church!" crowd here on TOL.

You're the 2nd person that allegedly isn't speaking for AMR. Based on his avatar, I'm assuming he's a big boy and can speak for himself, and when he was speaking for himself, here is what I saw:

He was putting down a man (Glenn Beck) who is backing a devoutly Christian Presidential candidate (Ted Cruz) who knows the Constitution of the United States perhaps better than the back of his own hand. In the eyes of AMR, Mormonism is bad, but a church that resembles the one that he goes to (Presbyterian) gets a pass even though a secular humanist Presidential candidate (Donald Trump) attended the "gay affirming" church recently in Iowa.

That's rings a big bad suspicion bell in my head when it comes to AMR's silence.

Now unless there was a typo in 1 Corinthians 6:9 and it meant to say "...wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God...", then the sodomites at the Presbyterian church that secular humanist Presidential candidate Donald Trump attended will be spending eternity in damnation.



This is a political thread not one of the famous "My church is better than your church!" threads here on TOL. The Mormon Church has been politically active and took the brunt of the HATE by the LGBTQueer movement when Prop 8 was being fought in California.


Let's hope that the Mormon's will back Ted Cruz, as I'm sure when it comes to votes, any candidate doesn't care what a person's religious affiliation is.

Nice try....get your facts straight, educate yourself on presbyterianism instead of accusing the man then you might have an argument. Mormonism is a cult, an invented, man made religion which was invented to resemble christianity but preaches a false gospel. When Glenn Beck takes a poke at someone else faith he made it political, and he has no room to run his yap because he is subscribing to a pseudo-christian cult, that was the thrust of AMR's comment as well as mine. Please don't attempt to lecture me on what this thread, or any thread is, or is not about, I am a big boy and can define it as I wish...and I will.

Yet like your buddy AMR, I don't see either of your admonishing Donald Trump who went to a Presbyterian church in Iowa that embraces homosexuality.

At least be fair when it comes to bashing different denominations (be an equal opportunity denomination basher).

That being said: How many people who call themselves "Christian" didn't vote for Mitt Romney solely because he is a Mormon?

Let me put it in simpler terms:

How many "Christians" are responsible for the murder of unborn babies, the molestation of innocent children because by not voting for Mormon Mitt Romney, they directly helped put ultra pro abortion, ultra pro homosexual socialist Barack Hussein Obama in the White House?
