the Book of Revelation

based on what?

it has been suggested that Revelation has more than one author

based on what?

we can start with the fact that John uses his own name three times in the first chapter

that is odd

you will find the name Jesus in only seven of the 22 chapters

so?

John the Baptist called Jesus the Lamb of God

this is true

it has also been shown that Revelation was first written in Hebrew and later translated into Greek

John the Baptist would have written in Hebrew

at the time he did not know Jesus was the Lamb of God

nor did he know about the seven churches

nor did the person who wrote the earliest extant commentary on Revelation

but he does know about Revelation

right but not about Antipas

he mentions many other martyrs

didn't Irenaeus say something about 'ancient copies' of Revelation?

Eusebius has him saying that

so what does all this mean?

and he doesn't mention seven churches?

he mentions seven churches that Paul wrote to

but not the churches of Revelation?

where can we find this?

here is his Commentary on the Apocalypse

so what does this prove?

his copy of Revelation did not have the right churches

so you think there was an ancient copy of Revelation that did not have the seven churches in it

Irenaeus of the second century mentioned ancient copies

doesn't Eusebius in the 4th century mention the cities that the churches are in?

some of them but he does not acknowledge them as the churches of Revelation

We had the most beautiful snow fall last night.
Because of the intense cold the flakes were large and fluffy like a blanket of sparkling eider down!

so do you have any scripture to suggest John the Baptist wrote Revelation?

we have bare witness

we can't have any nudity

I am using the King James Version

oh

we have John the Baptist bare witness in John's gospel and John in his Revelation

anything else

we have the reference to Lamb of God by John the Baptist and the fact that John did not know Him by name until He came to be baptized

so you think that explains why John does not use the name Jesus in so many chapters of Revelation?
