Some people say that the words of the Lord Jesus at John 5:24 were spoken to obedient Jews. But let us see if that is true:
"But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. 18. Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. 19. Then answered Jesus and said unto them.... Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life" (Jn.5:17-19,24).
For some reason I cannot believe that the Jews who wanted to kill the Lord Jesus were obedient Jews.
This just proves that some people will believe anything, no matter how ridiculous!

Are you kidding? What a joke. Do you think that Jesus came for murders?
The Jews who wanted to kill him are the Jews who were cut off and hardened so that they could not believe in Jesus and so be saved because Jesus came for the Lost Sheep of Israel. Those are Jews who already belonged to God by faith.

In a previous post I quoted John 5:24 to show that the Lord Jesus said that those who "believe" have "eternal life."
Since this directly contrdicts the theology of "God's Truth" she said this:
He was saying that to obedient Jews.
If we actually look at whom the Lord Jesus was speaking to we can see He was speaking to those who wanted to kill Him.
They are about as obedient as she is!

Jesus told the lost sheep AND US that we have to do more than just believe and do NOTHING else.
The many scriptures where Jesus tells us to believe, those scriptures do NOT erase the words of Jesus that say to obey!

There are many who cannot hear what the Lord said here:
"Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life" (Jn.5:24).
Those who cannot hear those words are the ones who also deny the "gospel of grace" and as a result remain what Paul refers to as a "natural man":
"But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned" (1 Cor.2:14).
