Hello,
Many years ago (I can't believe how many, really), I was a long-time moderator of another theology forum in which I posted frequently. It was helpful in that it gave me a reason to figure out what others believed and to really work through what I believed myself. And, as moderator, I had to stay nice.
Life happened, though, and suddenly theology had to operate at a working level for me. Scriptures and ideas that I had repeated over and over suddenly needed to be learned by my heart. While we can certainly debate the truth via words so that our minds can understand them, our hearts needs experiences. That's probably why God created time in the first place. So, I completely departed from the theology debating scene.
So 10 or so years later, on a whim, I followed a google search here to see what has changed in the debates over the last decade. It looks about the same, I suppose, which is a shame, in a way. So many of us spend so much time arguing the basics that we don't get to reap the benefits of the profound depths of the gospel, which is the power of God to us who believe.
So I may hang around just a bit and see how this place works. I apologize in advance for any long posts. Just skip what you don't want to read.
