well past pun

of tigers and tuna

the tiger said to the tuna that all was not lost
though the tuna said nothing he thought it was toast
and the tiger spoke louder but didnt have time
and the tuna was fishing for something of line
in coming on rocket the tiger was freed
but trapped in its basement the tuna conceit

well name the fish bob for his form took me time
the tiger is tigger to save another lime
the tunas cousins father took this in dim light
all tigers and cherrys to put up a fight
as tunas they considered the pelt of a pet
not knowing the tiger owed them a net

well stopped up and counting a rug for a first
not declining nor reclining fired in the second
making a good fist of claws and a head
or growing it something where it should have had feet
our time is not spent in withdrawing said payment
not counting the time in shorelines naturally spent

the meaning comes clear on the way to the farm
id take it all on with the tiger to charm
clarity and fog mixed up in a stew
and dishevelment we had appropriately slew
like fishing for compliments a man has his way
each knowing theyd meet on some other day

/sig

its all true though?

i might go back to church this weekend. *sigh* i havent been attending church regularly for about 3 years now i guess. something to do with living next door to one i suppose. or something to do with the people involved saying that going to church on sunday was a bit of a misnomer.

if i go back will it be the same?

does that matter?

will i be the same?

dinner and a new keyboard .. that would complete this day of days... lets see now what ..can .i. fin ..d...

to make sense of the past
an eye for the worst
an ear for the least
a nose for the wind
a taste for the inane
and a finger from those who disagree.

Why are you here?

some care might be advised when asking questions like that. especially in this thread. this thread is an introduction to a new poster on TOL. its done a pretty good job of doing that already. its uncertain how much longer it can last though.

the new poster poses questions at times that are poorly phrased or located. these questions are generally always aimed at the posters own feet. when a question is posed such as:

theres just as likely to be a response of nothing as a discouse on the posters existentialism. that is purely a result of the poster assuming the shared trait of preferring to endanger ones own progress rather than endangering anothers.

it should have become instantly obvious though that the cat is not dead and it is in fact responding to said question. perhaps pandoras box should have remained closed or perhaps this is for the best. one should never know until after the event.

Why are you here?

can you even answer that honestly? the question raises such issues base like employment and social contributions. or for others it might raise issues like what sport you play. and no, baseball is not a sport. this thread has already covered that issue. .. this question would obviously be pointlessly asked of any green jumping insects.

is the new poster here because he is being paid?
does the poster do anything because he is being paid?
what would the poster do regardless of how much he might be paid?

it raises issues more esoteric like philosophical musings and moral obligation.

is the poster here because of an authoratative decree*?
does the poster respond to authority?
what course would the poster take when faced with the challenge that comes when reality clashes with ideals?

an answer to these questions is a life long process. i do not think you wish to have that process played out in an online forum**. an online forum is only a small part of that which is reality. everything in moderation - and yes, that includes moderation.

if i was strapped to a chair and forced to watch bad cinema untill i answered the original question concisely, i might respond thus:

"I have decyphered the hieroglyphics."

....

*"grant?"
"yes?"
"it would be MUCH easier if you just spoke normally."
"sure it would, but then everyone would know whats going on and start disagreeing. this way they just ignore or incinerate the issue."
"yeah but that means you."
"hah. i could never assume anything so grand. i pay by the bucketload to be represented on this planet and any notion of self sacrifice not only flies in the face of all logic and good sense - it is also pointless and (by and by) completely impossible."
"so how then do you justify yourself."
"youre just asking the same question again"
"..."
"sorry. the answer is: i cant. if i could justify myself i wouldnt need to anyway. if i did justify myself i could be doing nothing but making things up."
"how very existential."
"well, existentialism is the height of circular reasoning. a perfect match to the unlit bonfire of my life."
"so youre on fire now?"
"i wish .. i said height. i cant even to begin justifying jumping, let alone reach the heights of my vague and unreliable notions of truth and reality."

**some of the less confused might like to point out that perhaps that process has already been played out. that might seem a little unfair to others, but it would be just as entertaining as anything else represented here.
