How the Gospel Refutes Calvinism, Predestination

Not the way I read Robert's post. He reads it as accomplished and while I don't think he does, I can't recall if he holds a form of universalism.

How the Gospel Refutes Calvinism, Predestination

Robert, If all creation is already reconciled to God, why would Paul (in the very next verse after your first reference) say this : Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. I Corinthians 5:20 You...

Is God's Grace Available to All?

My first comment is that he has Judas clearly wrong. Jesus chose Judas knowing exactly who he was - knowing exactly what he was going to do. Without that, the plan of God would not have been accomplished. Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? John 6:70...

Is God's Grace Available to All?

I would think that those that call upon the name of the Lord is only a subset who cry out for grace or mercy. To be able to call upon the name of the Lord requires being brought to Him. Many may cry for grace, but that doesn't guarantee they receive it.

Is God's Grace Available to All?

I think you end up finding yourself between a straw man and a heresy. The straw man is believing that God does not extend grace to all men in Calvinism. The heresy (in reacting to a straw man) is ending up with universalism. Psalm 145:8-9 says nothing about salvation. The rain, after all, falls...

    Have you noticed.....?

Good post. I think a lot of people realize they are taking an experimental vaccine. It has not passed the normally mandated testing protocols (2 years) and most people aren't used to the numbers involved in testing and large scale mortality. The media threw around a lot of big numbers when COVID...

    Is the coronavirus God's punishment?

No, it's the vehicle for bringing in the sort of rulership that we have shown we deserve because we can't rule ourselves properly. What was, in the beginning, an experiment in liberty has become an exercise in license. We not only condone things like the murder of the innocent for convenience...

Is Obedience a Condition of Salvation?

Since Romans 10:9 has been thrown around a lot on this thread (and I admit there are portions of the thread that I really just skimmed or skipped over), I wanted to point something out : But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith...

Wells Fargo notifies customers to be ready to have all their lines of credit shut down

Agreed. But notice, also, on whose watch the disconnection really had its biggest advance.

Wells Fargo notifies customers to be ready to have all their lines of credit shut down

I'm not saying we aren't on a roller coaster ride that ultimately results in disaster. But I'm also familiar with the joke that if you ask 10 economists for an opinion you get 11 opinions. I've also seen a number of scare tactics in the past where someone had sure economic evidence of a...

Wells Fargo notifies customers to be ready to have all their lines of credit shut down

As I recall (and as the article notes), Wells Fargo has been seriously restricted in what it can do because of the illegal activities it engaged in on a large scale. So its being forced to close credit lines may well be just a related business decision. If they are on a short leash, they may...

    Ronald Reagan's prophecy

And a related "teachable moment"...showing what is driving this mindset. This is a quote from an exchange between CNN's Brianna Keilar and HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra (from an editorial that appeared in the Washington Examiner and that was republished on MSN) : {Source ...

An Unloving Unnecessary Monstrous Interpretation Of Matthew 7:13-14

Just a brief question. Would it make a difference to your thinking if the torture weren't because they were being actively poked, proded and pierced by demonic entities (or some such thing) but if, rather, they couldn't stand being in the presence of a Holy God? That, in fact, hell is fiery...

    Woke Theology

There are 3 main problems with today's Woke/CRT "theology" (some may not call it a theology, but it necessarily has one and it can even be seen by the fact that it has an impact in the Christian Church): 1. Definition of sin 2. The primary injured party in "sin" 3. The remedy for sin. 1...

The obstacles of a young minister and their overcoming on the basis of pastoral messages.

That sounds like an interesting thesis, but it doesn't (grammatically) make perfect sense to me. I'm assuming you are talking about the obstacles a young minister needs to overcome in order to have an effective ministry, but I don't understand exactly what you mean by "...on the basis of..."...

    Illusion of Free Will

Lowly One, I'm sorry I didn't see this when you responded back in October. I am on here infrequently now, so if I miss something one time, it could be a while before I pick up on it again. God's control is absolute. But God is not unjust nor cruel. He will not deny someone who genuinely...
