  • Nice. I'm not too familiar with his music.

That's too bad. I don't like rainy weather. We also had some rain yesterday. Today it's just very windy. I probably won't be going outside. Relaxing with friends is nice. One of my friends was in town this weekend so I hung out with him both Friday and last night.
I got the message, thanks. Hope to respond soon.

Yes, thanks for giving them that film. :mmph: They've been quite busy and plan to incorporate the rack in their haunted house for Halloween this year. I think some neighborhood kids are going to get quite a surprise. :plain:

I did buy some candy to give out tonight. Nothing really besides that though. No costumes or decorations. :chuckle: What about you?

    :e4e:
    Hehe, yeah :)

Doing good, thanks. Been a tad busy lately with work and so haven't had much time to post here but all is going well.

By the way, your new green status allows you to give some colour to your profile page :p
I woke up the other day and was tied to it. They said it was a 'trial run'. :plain:

Did you have a good weekend?

    :e4e:
Ah, didn't see your message here before my last response to you; probably my question about your affiliation won't make much sense now

Yeah it is definitely an interesting topic.

    Take care
Cool. I don't read much fiction but I'll keep him in mind next time I'm shopping. I think Brothers Karamazov will take me quite a while longer.

Great. Now I have total peace of mind. :plain:

No worries. Whenever you get to it. :chuckle:
Hope you feel better. Headaches make me want to do nothing but sleep.

Things are alright. I have today, tomorrow, and Wednesday off work which is nice. Hope to get a few things done around the house but also relax and get some extra reading done.

I had to call someone today to come out and look at one of my gutters because during our last bad rainstorm there was water pouring down on my front steps which will be very bad once the temperatures drop more and it could start freezing. :noid: I think it will be an easy fix but it's still annoying. Sometimes owning a house isn't worth it. :mmph:

    You?

    :e4e:
H&G have been building something for a while and they've just informed me of what it is. It's a rack in order to 'persuade' me of the Trinity. :plain:
:chuckle: Yes, wouldn't that be nice.

I agree with you on that aspect of dispensationalism.

    Happy Sunday. :e4e:
I basically agree with your thoughts. I agree with the what I understand the NPP to be saying regarding what Paul thought of works and faith. I do still have some questions about what role Paul and James thought the ceremonial/ritual aspects of the Law played in the lives of Jewish Christians. In Acts 21:20 James says the Jewish converts were zealous for the law, which I assume would mean the entire law. Do you think Paul would have been or would have wanted his churches to be? In Phil 3 he seems to talk about his love of the law in the past tense. Of course, he talks about the righteousness of the law, which is now found in faith, which doesn't necessarily mean he's giving up the entire thing, but I think it's questionable.
On a different note - the last section of Zealot focuses a lot on Paul and his relationship/conflict with Jesus and the Church in Jerusalem. He says that the Judaizers that Paul speaks against in Galatians would have been genuine messengers or spies from James and the Church. That Paul didn't think the Law needed to be followed at all, which was in conflict with James and the other apostles. He says that in Acts where Paul agrees with James to take the vow it would be a complete denial of everything he had been teaching to his churches. A difference, or possible tension, between Paul and the others can be seen in scripture (look at dispensationalism which seeks to make sense of those differences), but Aslan paints the conflict in pretty stark terms. What are your thoughts on Paul's relationship to the original disciples, or James specifically?

I've seen one of Murakami's books, 1Q84, but don't really know what his books are like. Are you reading Colorless? Buber is another author I've been wanting to read. He's come up from a few TOLers. How are you enjoying Eclipse?
