  • Definitely better to avoid rush hour, show up early and have a little time for a cup of coffee and a quick scan of TOL. :)

Sorry it'll be a long day, I hope it all goes well for you.

I'm okay, I guess. Thanks. But the sledgehammer is within easy reach, so...

    :chuckle:
Sorry, I'll put down the sledgehammer now.

And I'll let you know when Sela comes through for me. :chuckle:
Sounds like a nice trip, kmo. Glad you were able to go and enjoy it. And yeah, give your niece another year and there'll be no stopping her. :)

I'm doing okay, thanks. Same as I have been. Basically wondering what the flipping purpose of life is, but that's not a very original question, is it? :chuckle:
Been rather busy lately, multiple confirmation services

You should get that book. It is a very interesting take on Christology that seeks to unite the historical, in form of biblical studies, with a systematic approach. There has been a rather big chasm between biblical studies and systematic theology pretty much ever since the rise of historical-critical studies of the bible. Partly because historical-critical studies were at least partly inspired by a rather strong anti-ecclesial tone, wanting to get behind the dogmas of the church. Problem of course is that they ended up with a very fragmented theology, and Jenson summarizes the problem succinctly: Who is the subject of the gospel: "Jesus is risen"?

    How are you?

Your beach trip sounds wonderful. :)

And I'm chuckling about "how the dynamic will be." :chuckle:

My summer break is just about over. I go back to school on Monday, and it's going to be a busy semester. Looking over my transcript, I realized I could be a December grad if I wanted to, but I'm going to leave it as is and just take some extra classes in the spring that would be helpful for my masters, and I may end up having enough for a minor. I need to talk to an advisor.

Enjoy your few days at the beach, I hope it's paradise.

    :)

:chuckle: I just had to do that.

I don't know though, kmo. I don't think it's necessarily easy to go west when you were raised in the east. Of course it's very possible, lots of people including my own parents have done it, but the west is a different place.

I was only in Portland for the layover, but it's so beautiful. Had an "Aberdeen Big P Pilsner" and a BLTA sandwich at Henry's Tavern. :)

I hope things are well with you.
Wasn't here for the big day, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY! You're not getting older, you're inching toward a hoary host of senior discounts...okay, it was that or linner (where lunch meets dinner). :plain:

    I'll go.
    :chuckle:

I like beer, but I don't think I've ever finished a bottle. Maybe come close when it's been a Corona and lime. :)

I'm okay, thanks. Enjoying the last weeks of summer. I don't like hot weather, but I do like not having to do homework (at the last minute).
I tried to give you a rep comment but couldn't. You gave me a good chuckle. :chuckle:

The only thing I know about hipsters is they like beards and craft beer.
I just saw your visitor message. :chuckle: If I could conjure up a benefactor for you, I would.

Happy Friday to you too.
Now I remember... :chuckle: yeah, we had the start of a good conversation, didn't we? :)

Give me me a few days and I'll give it the answer it deserves. I like the way your mind thinks. And thank you. :)
About the mental energy - I know the feeling. Hope things get better for you. Just so you know, I'll be taking a break soon. I gave myself a deadline of July 1 but I don't know I'll be here much before that point, either. I'm just all TOL'd out.

Wasn't that weather something? I should be ashamed to complain about how boring it is. :chuckle:

And what you need is some rich benefactor who will pay for you to get the entire golf course just for you and your dad for six hours. :D
The renovation is done, but I still lack some core furniture. I lack a bookshelf at the moment and I have a few books... Got more today, a gift from an older colleague: The full Summa theologica in Latin, 8 volumes, over 130 years old: http://oi65.tinypic.com/z8gax.jpg

Haven't had too much time to read, been busy again. Going on a camp next week  After that I get a week off though.
