America does NOT "lead" the world in the number of abortions by any means . Ironically , poor countries where abortion is ILLEGAL have higher abortions rates than America .
Take Brazil ; world's largest Catholic nation where abortions is illegal . More abortions occur there every year than in America ! Oh the irony ! And many, many poor women there and in other poor countries which officially prohibit abortion die, or nearly perish , too .
The abortion rate in America has been steadily declining , which is good, but no country will ever "end" abortion or even be able to enforce laws against it . Since Roe v Wade, the number of women who died from LEGAL abortions has been minuscule compared to countries where abortion is illegal and before Roe.
As for homosexuals, the percentage of gay people is no larger in America
than countries elsewhere , and no larger than it has ever been . Fortunately, America is no longer a country where gay people live in fear of losing their jobs , being arrested ,prosecuted and imprisoned merely for being gay even if they have never harmed anyone , which is true of the vast majority of gays everywhere .
We cannot and must not go back to the bad old days in America when poor women routinely died from botched illegal abortions, where gay people were persecuted , where non-christian kids were shamed and humiliated for not being Christian and not wanting to participate in Christian prayer and Bible readings by teachers and other kids , etc .
But unfortunately, there are too many appallingly narrow-minded, intolerant, self-righteous and fanatical people in America who are determined to do this .
