. . . . when He didn't before Pharaoh had already done so? What is the point?

Pharoah rose up by Gods hand because the Israelites need to be treated according to their own hardened hearts.

The same is happening before our vey eyes and most are not aware of it.

The hardening of Pharoahs heart by God was only in regard to letting the Israelites go.

Do you believe the hearts of the Israelites were hardened at that point in time by that understanding?

The Israelites had gone into apostasy before or at the same time as Pharaoh was raised up to suit the conflict where they had a choice as to who to be joined to.---

Heb 11:24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;
Heb 11:25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
Heb 11:26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

Scripture does not record those who forsook God to join the godless, but I am sure many did, but it does show that a multitude of Egyptians went out with the descendants of Abraham , Isaac and Jacob and became members of Gods people.

The reason we can be sure of many things in one account is because all accounts are the same, even the last one yet to come.

People harden their own hearts toward God.

Act 28:27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Did God literally harden Pharaoh's heart?

Or did Pharaoh harden his heart when confronted with the truth of God?

God knew that Pharaoh would harden his heart against God's truth.

Much like religious people choose not to believe God's word when confronted with scripture.

God would have preferred that Pharaoh not harden his heart and become one of God's people, but Pharaoh did not choose that path

In YELLOW is totally out of context.

Two things were purposed by God to be accomplished:

1. By Him making a needed contrast, God would reveal Himself, His ALMIGHTY power, to His people that He ALONE might be their God.

2. By 'helping out' Pharaoh's already hardened disposition, would hopefully instill in His people a gratitude for His "Salvation, Promise and Provision".

It is mentioned 19 times that Yah Veh hardened the heart of Pharaoh and yet the children of Satan will not give glory to Yah Veh for doing so.

God gave Pharaoh five chances to repent. You never know when God is giving you your last call to live (Ge 6:3). You are not guaranteed a tomorrow (2 Co 6:2).

2 Thessalonians 2:9-13: The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.

They are perishing because they refuse the love of the truth? But wait, it gets worse.

Therefore God sends them a strong delusion...

God sends them a strong delusion? Why would God send them a strong delusion? But wait, it gets worse.

So that they may believe what is false.

So that they believe what is false? Why would God let them believe what is false? But wait, it gets worse.

In order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Was there any particular reason God would arbitrarily do such a thing?

Because Pharaoh was the elohim of the earth at the time. The most powerful leader on the planet. Even so he was no match for the Eternal Almighty who had decided to once more reveal his power and set His people free. If you ever read the Bible these facts are all in there.
