Who are God's Elect?

Just because you claim to be one of God's elect does not mean that you are. God has chosen all of humanity in his Son Jesus Christ. Jesus is God's new Adam and our new humanity.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things have passed away; behold all things have become new. And all things are of God, WHO HAS RECONCILED US TO HIMSELF BY JESUS CHRIST" 2 Corinthians 5:17, 18.

God has ALREADY reconciled us and the world unto himself by Jesus Christ, 2 Corinthians 5:19. God has extended to fallen man his hand of love, forgiveness and reconciliation. This is why Paul wrote, "We pray you in Christ stead, be ye reconciled unto God" 2 Corinthians 5:20.

The ball is now in humanities court. God has ALREADY done all that he can do for the salvation of fallen man. Because God is just, merciful, and long suffering he will not and cannot force salvation on anyone. Everyone that will be in heaven will be there because they chose to be there by their own free will. Free will honors God. There is no honor or glory for God in saving robots. A robot is a dumb piece of junk that does not have a free will, it cannot think or make choices and is operated by someone else. There is no indication anywhere in the Bible that God creates these dumb robots.

God's mark of ownership is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is granted to all that hear and believe the Gospel. This is why Paul wrote to the Galatians,

"This only would I learn of you, did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law (because you did something) or by the hearing of faith (hearing and believing the Gospel) Galatians 3:2.

The Gospel and the Holy Spirit are close companions. When the Gospel is preached the Holy Spirit is there to convict one of their need for Christ and his Gospel. On the day of Pentecost thousands heard Peter's Gospel and were born again by the word of God and became Christians.

"Being born again, not of corruptible seed (Adam) but of incorruptible, by the word of God (the Gospel) which lives and abides forever" 1 Peter 1:23.

The indwelling Holy Spirit is evidence that one is God's elect. Jesus said that those that are indwelt with the Holy Spirit will...

"He will teach you all things" John 14:26
"That you will go and bring forth fruit" John 15:16.
"He will testify of Christ" John 15:26.
"He shall not speak of himself" John 16:13.
"He shall glorify Christ" John 16:14.

These are just some of the evidences of the Holy Spirit, there are many, many more. The main work of the Holy Spirit is to magnify the work and the person of Jesus Christ. Those that don't have the Holy Spirit will magnify their religion because it is their religion that they are trusting in. Calvinist, Catholics and others believe that their religion is the way the truth and the life and without it no man will see God.

In the Gospel it is Jesus that fulfills every jot and tittle of God's holy law, Matthew 5:18. In the Gospel it is Jesus that atones for our sins and the sins of the whole world, 1 John 2:2. In the Gospel it is Jesus that reconciles us and the world unto God, 2 Corinthians 5:18, 19. This is why Paul wrote, "You are complete in him" (Christ) Colossians 2:10. If you are complete in Christ then why do you need a religion?

Has all things become new to you? Have you brought every thought in your mind to the obedience of the new testament? Have you crucified all your emotions? Can you answer all questions with verses from the Holy Spirit? Have you given up wanting anything in life? The Elect have.

2 Cor 10:4-5
4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,
5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
(NKJ)

Gal 5:24-25
24 And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
(NKJ)

John 14:26
26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
(NKJ)

James 1:2-3
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,
3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
(KJV)

You like to turn grace into works and religion. God did not need your help when he reconciled the world unto himself.

The Holy Spirit that was given on the day of Pentecost was a new manifestation of the Spirit that was related to the Gospel, Acts 2. After Pentecost the Holy Spirit was granted to those who heard and believed the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Galatians 3:2.

This post says nothing about who Gods elect are. I do know this, If a person persists in denying that Christ's Blood failed to save all for whom it was shed for, they give no evidence of being Gods Elect ! They give no evidence of being a believer in Christ !

Is that what Isaiah said?

All who God saves are elected , or chosen for salvation. They are elected /chosen when God saved them and gave them His Holy Spirit. God did not elect us in the predestined way the Calvinists teach, but God elects us when we believe, obey, confess, repent of sins, and call on the name of the Lord to save us.

John 5:21 For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it.

Ephesians 1:4
For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love

1 Corinthians 1:27
But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

1 Corinthians 1:28
God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are,

2 Thessalonians 2:13
[ Stand Firm ] But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth.

Moses and others had the God's holy Spirit before the Mosaic law was given.

The Holy Spirit was in their midst...not dwelling in them.

Nehemiah 9:20
Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them, and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst.

God's elect are those God has chosen to be his elect.

What was God's criteria for making that decision?

God's foreknowledge of who would believe (elect to believe) Him.

God is not going to ignore His foreknowledge, He wisely put it to use and chose to show favor to those who He foreknew would choose to believe

That led them by the right hand of Moses with his glorious arm, dividing the water before them, to make himself an everlasting name?" (Isaiah 63:11 KJV)
