It's not OK to be gay.

The 'UberGod' may have a different opinion on that subject since from the context we're exploring here, he didn't make those 'rules' in the OT. If you're familiar with the Gnostic concept of 'yhwh' being the 'demiurge',....you'll see that those 'rules' in the OT were made/ limited to that small tribe of 'yhwh-worshippers' in Palestine,....as it did not apply to any of the Gentile nations, since this 'god' was jealously seeking his own 'cult', with their own mark (circumcision), priesthood, covenant-promises, etc. These later translate out onto a universal level for all peoples, as all are united in the Messiah, who recognize the 'Christ' within.

On a universal level many of these symbols do apply to all peoples, but such language is figurative, for all people who accept the True God (The One and Only).... are made God's people (become 'Is-Ra-el'), in special covenant-relationship, because they are 'One with the Spirit' (joining their heart and will with The One) and have recognized the living truth which unites them in divine Sonship with the Universal Father. All peoples are immersed into The One, by recognizing their true origin, and become 'holy' even as God is holy, when all that is false is abandoned and only the truth is held (there being a true discernment/separation from what is 'real' and 'unreal' in spiritual value and meaning). Such is the path of integrity. Such is the 'seperating' of truth from falsehood, where one is 'set apart' in service of truth.

We've treated the old worn out subject of the Bible and homosexuality here and elsewhere. A proper education therein is recommended.

I was banned:banned: for one full year. ;) Did I miss anything or... Now don't pretend you don't know me. Someone here is glad I am back and I want to know who! And please don't say Jesus.

Did I leave an impression on anyone or am I just as invisible? :zoomin:

I think we may get along better now... I'm not AS arrogant as I once was. :chuckle:

As I recall it was a perma-ban.

Oh the irony. I thought he brought some good points to the fore,...and I don't recall what specifics the 'ban' was based upon. Of course his being openly gay and married to another person of the same gender couldn't factor in at all. ha! :p

Yeah, Knight hit him with a 50 after he wrote that Islam was like Christianity plus meth. And that was that.

Stupid way to go out.

Ah,....but a good way to go out with a 'bang'

Sadly,....while some folks go on demonizing Islam, how many look at the good contributions, values and other nuances within Islam and its place among the world religious traditions that does have its place in our global culture? - seems more are villifying a whole tradition based on a few extreme fringe groups within it. I'm sure this could deserve its own thread. The mystical branch of Islam, 'Sufism' also has some wonderful insights in spiritual life and relationship with God (with some amazing teachers/poets),....so I don't see why all the hype to demean the entire religious tradition for a few bad apples :idunno:
