There are verses that say we meet Him in the air when He comes.
There are no verses that say He leaves when we join Him in the air.

We are with Him always after death or resurrection. He is not stuck in one spot in the universe.

1 Thessalonians 4:15 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming [παρουσία parousia] of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.​
