I listened to a half dozen shows on the radio. I tried to like him.

I cannot stand him. He comes across as so immature, childish, petty and absurd, I can't stand to listen to him for more than a half hour max, and that's a difficult prospect, at that. Frequently, he comes across to me as a 6-year-old who is acting out and needs a sharp swat on the backside or a rap on the knuckles.

I admit I do not watch much of Beck or any other TV personality. But I thought Beck was pretty funny the times that I did watch him. I think most folks miss the joke, he's kinda like Rush in that he's got a good sense of humor and sometimes it's pretty subtle.

And it's tough to argue with his political views which are for the most part... spot on.

:chuckle:
Couldn't have said it better although a few of his segments on economics have been worthwhile.

He's got some valid thoughts, but his delivery is over-the-top emotion and immaturity.

 Overall

Rush has a well-developed sense of humor, to be sure.

But, Beck's brash and juvenile mania makes Rush look like Brit Hume.

Basing your judgment of a man's character on the opinions of extremely wicked people is a terribly foolish standard to follow. There is only one standard. And God-hating liberal idiots aren't it.

He's had Jonah Goldberg on the show who has written about this. I'm not sure why he doesn't challenge Beck.

"Jonah Goldberg reminds us that the original fascists were really on the Left, and that liberals from Woodrow Wilson to FDR to Hillary Clinton have advocated policies and principles remarkably similar to those of Hitler's National Socialism and Mussolini's Fascism.

Contrary to what most people think, the Nazis were ardent socialists (hence the term "National Socialism"). They believed in free health care and guaranteed jobs. They confiscated inherited wealth and spent vast sums on public education. They purged the church from public policy, promoted a new form of pagan spirituality, and inserted the authority of the state into every nook and cranny of daily life. The Nazis declared war on smoking, supported abortion, euthanasia, and gun control. They loathed the free market, provided generous pensions for the elderly, and maintained a strict racial quota system in their universities--where campus speech codes were all the rage. The Nazis led the world in organic farming and alternative medicine. Hitler was a strict vegetarian, and Himmler was an animal rights activist... (Sleeve of his book, Liberal Fascism by Jonah Goldberg)."

He also calls Alan Keyes a crazy right-wing "birther", then puts his picture on the chalkboard :hammer:on the left near the actual leftist crazies. :freak: Beck is a libertarian (an immoral conservative [Enyart]).

I like between 50-75% of what he says, though my listening limit is only about 10 minutes.
Rush is still #1 in my book. Dennis Prager, Mark Stein and Mark Levin follow in that order.

John MacArthur, Ken Ham, Charles Stanley? :idunno:
Glenn Beck is an entertainer which is why he is so popular. None of the guys you mention have the charisma or personality to be a Glenn Beck. If they did.... they would doing it.

I saw Ken Ham speak in person just a couple weeks ago, he's great! But totally different from Glenn Beck.
