Acts 11:23 When he came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord.

Acts 11:24 For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord.

Do you believe the people added to the Lord in Acts 11:24 were not saved and are not part of the BOC?
They are not saved anymore than those of Acts 2:

Acts 2:46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

Acts 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

It's future for them as in 1 Peter 1:7-9 KJV

And those above are NOT in the BoC! They are waiting for the blotting out of sins (Acts 3:19-21 KJV, 1 John 1:9 KJV, as in Zechariah 13:1 KJV) whereas we in the Body have now received the atonement (Romans 5:11 KJV).

In Acts 2:47 "such as should be" does not appear to be in the Greek in kjvs. It seems to be added.

I can't say who merits the highest reputation, but I think we all know who should be at the bottom. Whose posts and conduct, day after day, week after week, year after year, have earned him the scorn and enmity of all but the feeble minded and new. Whose manner, argument and even spelling has led to a general sort of ridicule and disdain on the part of the larger membership...But really, there's no point, no point at all in naming names here. And I'm pretty sure kmo knows who he is without anyone pointing that finger and heaping coals and embarrassment on his tiny, tiny head. No point at all, except on his tiny head, of course. So let's none of us sink to the level of calling him out.

I mean, that would be crueler than handing a person a season ticket pass to watch the Chiefs play something very much like football, wouldn't it. :plain:

I'm just storing up my treasure in heaven rather than on TOL where moth and rust destroy. :noid:

How sad, that you cannot believe the text. I guess the "the Greek" is your final authority, then. It would clear up a lot of your confusion to take God at His word/ believing every word.

It is not sad at all. I seek the truth in God's word. God is the final authority on his word. I do not abide by doctrines of men for my belief in God. KJV is an English translation of the Greek. Greek was used in the West. In the East Aramaic was spread and there are English translations of that also. In addition there are other translations that from the Greek and other sources. Which one to believe? I research the source and see if the source is correct. I see in too many cases where English words are inserted into the translation which did not even have a foundation in the original language. Then on top of the additional words we have complete doctrines and whole religions developed around these added words.

1 Corinthians 2:15-16
15 The person with the Spirit makes judgments about all things, but such a person is not subject to merely human judgments,
16 for,

“Who has known the mind of the Lord
so as to instruct him?”
But we have the mind of Christ.

How about returning reps?

How about returning reps?

Clearly, you are lying.

As you rarely pos-rep me and all of my posts are logical, intelligent, witty, reasonable, and the very epitome of "spiritual discernment". AND, I don't cut sentences up into bits and pieces for no apparent reason as I am typing them into the comment box!

So there's that, too!

:readthis:

Hi Purex,....how many times have you repped me? ;)

Anyways,....the rep system is about over-rated these days, and with coming changes in the system, its almost become irrelevant in some ways. I still merrily rep others by habit, returning reps, sometimes leaving comments, and the like. Its just another feature on the forum,.....water under the bridge.

In-joy! :)
