What does God mean when He states that a husband and wife are to become on flesh? Is sex the epitome of marriage or is oneness in loving and serving God first as one flesh what oneness is all about?

God meant that man and woman were to be companions for life. As Christians all they do should be for God. However, humans will always have to contend with the flesh. But Jesus is the Son of God. That involves the spirit not flesh. That is why Jesus was without sin.

So what are you saying? Jesus Christ came in the flesh . See I John 4:1-3. Jesus was no less flesh than any human being. What do you do when you are tempted? Do you decide to succumb or do you choose to believe God to love God to keep his commandments?
