:chuckle:Those three things makes you giddy don't they? But that's what he's saying: those three things are true in Christ.

Is this supposed to be an answer? There is absolutely no explanation of why you believe this. You haven't exegeted anything. The emphasis of the structure of 6 falls on 'dia tou euangeliou.' The three things said to be true are true in the Gospel.
Ie, there is no mystery that the believers from the nations (gentile) would some day share with Israel. Judaism believed that, although 2nd rate for them. But Judaism believed it would happen through the Law. Paul said no, it is here, now, and through the Gospel. Or as he would say elsewhere 'in Christ.'
So NIV is right to put the expression right after the verb of the whole thing.
This completely changes how a person sees OT 'prophecy.'

And there we have it, folks: a discussion of the grammar of a passage is NOT exegesis, get it? It's only 'exegesis' if 2P2P's views come through intact. That was easy!
:sigh:
Gentile salvation has ALWAYS been in the plan of God.
Through Israel's rise, not their fall.
Think!
The reaching of the Gentiles for salvation was known for ages. It was happening before the apostles eyes. It was the raised tent of David that had fallen. V14 is actually interpreting it before we get to it.
There are therefore two things in Acts 15's reflective comments that show that the mission to the nations, not a kingdom offer, was the drive of early Acts: Peter's own remark in v7 and James agreement with that WHICH IS THE SET-UP FOR UNDERSTANDING THE QUOTE FROM AMOS.
The only way to believe D'ism/Judaism/MAD is to fracture these statements in this one coherent paragraph from each other and isolate them as though they each had a disease. Which is my impression of MAD's handling of them.
:idunno:
Those who believed the gospel in the first generation were the 'rise' of Israel.
:chuckle:
Read Isaiah 60, and believe what you read.
:french:But check the NT before you form your beliefs.
He doesn't. He doesn't check the apostles letters. He does his interp directly.
If you do not believe Isaiah 60 first, how can you understand the "NT"?
You cannot. You do it backwards.
Well, like the Ethiopian in Acts 9 asked: is the prophet speaking of himself or someone else?
Your statement is profoundly wrong, becuase IN CHRIST are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, so we are supposed to start with him. the whole thing is true in him. He is the covenant that was coming. His mission is the work of God that was coming.
That's why you are on the same page with the non-Christian Jews in threads next door.
Apparently, none of the prophets get to be "in Christ".:chuckle:
Made up.
Apparently, none of the prophets get to be "in Christ".
And this is the guy that is going to show us how to "interp" the scripture.IP: "He is the covenant that was coming."
