The Father is Spirit and cannot be "seen". The Son is the very "Form" (Heb. 1:3) or "Glory" of the Father that is seen. You are correct about the Prince connotation, but... the Son is known as the Son for our behalf. We can be counted "equals" with God by Love, in sonship... but the Son is none other than the "Only" form of the "Father" and when God visibly sits in His throne... it is the Son that we see.

That is not true.
Rev 4:10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying,
Rev 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
Rev 5:7 And He(Jesus)came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.
Rev 5:13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.
