The Caligastia One Hundred after Rebellion

When the final roll was called, the corporeal members of the Prince’s staff were found to have aligned themselves as follows: Van and his entire court of co-ordination had remained loyal. Ang and three members of the food council had survived. The board of animal husbandry were all swept into rebellion as were all of the animal-conquest advisers. Fad and five members of the educational faculty were saved. Nod and all of the commission on industry and trade joined Caligastia. Hap and the entire college of revealed religion remained loyal with Van and his noble band. Lut and the whole board of health were lost. The council of art and science remained loyal in its entirety, but Tut and the commission on tribal government all went astray. Thus were forty out of the one hundred saved, later to be transferred to Jerusem, where they resumed their Paradise journey.

(757.5) 67:4.2 The sixty members of the planetary staff who went into rebellion chose Nod as their leader. They worked wholeheartedly for the rebel Prince but soon discovered that they were deprived of the sustenance of the system life circuits. They awakened to the fact that they had been degraded to the status of mortal beings. They were indeed superhuman but, at the same time, material and mortal. In an effort to increase their numbers, Daligastia ordered immediate resort to sexual reproduction, knowing full well that the original sixty and their forty-four modified Andonite associates were doomed to suffer extinction by death, sooner or later. After the fall of Dalamatia the disloyal staff migrated to the north and the east. Their descendants were long known as the Nodites, and their dwelling place as “the land of Nod.”

(758.1) 67:4.3 The presence of these extraordinary supermen and superwomen, stranded by rebellion and presently mating with the sons and daughters of earth, easily gave origin to those traditional stories of the gods coming down to mate with mortals. And thus originated the thousand and one legends of a mythical nature, but founded on the facts of the postrebellion days, which later found a place in the folk tales and traditions of the various peoples whose ancestors had participated in these contacts with the Nodites and their descendants.

(758.2) 67:4.4 The staff rebels, deprived of spiritual sustenance, eventually died a natural death. And much of the subsequent idolatry of the human races grew out of the desire to perpetuate the memory of these highly honored beings of the days of Caligastia.

(758.3) 67:4.5 When the staff of one hundred came to Urantia, they were temporarily detached from their Thought Adjusters. Immediately upon the arrival of the Melchizedek receivers the loyal personalities (except Van) were returned to Jerusem and were reunited with their waiting Adjusters. We know not the fate of the sixty staff rebels; their Adjusters still tarry on Jerusem. Matters will undoubtedly rest as they now are until the entire Lucifer rebellion is finally adjudicated and the fate of all participants decreed.

(758.4) 67:4.6 It was very difficult for such beings as angels and midwayers to conceive of brilliant and trusted rulers like Caligastia and Daligastia going astray — committing traitorous sin. Those beings who fell into sin — they did not deliberately or premeditatedly enter upon rebellion — were misled by their superiors, deceived by their trusted leaders. It was likewise easy to win the support of the primitive-minded evolutionary mortals.

(758.5) 67:4.7 The vast majority of all human and superhuman beings who were victims of the Lucifer rebellion on Jerusem and the various misled planets have long since heartily repented of their folly; and we truly believe that all such sincere penitents will in some manner be rehabilitated and restored to some phase of universe service when the Ancients of Days finally complete the adjudication of the affairs of the Satania rebellion, which they have so recently begun.

Does Darth Vader have anything to do with your beliefs?

Please don't ridicule and demean the Star Wars fictional series by associating it with this vomitous spew of chunks.

The closest parallel would be Scientology's Xenu, with or without the Oprah Show couch-jumping by any prominent looney disciple with an acting career.

Where's L. Ron when ya need 'im. I say put all the Urantia dopes and the Scientology loons in a large stadium and let 'em fight it all out to the death over "the truth" of which is better sci-fi fiction as religion.

Well hey, it's the legend in his own mind, the guy from behind the curtain in "The Wizard of OZ," the man who thinks he's Jesus Christ (though bearing no resemblance to him) has blessed us with his presence. The coward, who has studied the scripture, is aware of the many mistakes in them, but not man enough (or Christ enough) to get schooled on those errors. The man who has blown himself up into a prideful balloon with a complex learning, using unnecessarily intellectual linguistics to cover his insecurities. Its ok, you hate Jesus and his Father to, so i make full allowance for that.

You've never read the Jesus papers, you lied.

Yep, you have no defense because you know the truth about the scripture. The enemies of Jesus also knew this truth but they were also moral cowards.

4. The Talk with Nathaniel

(1767.3) 159:4.1 And then went Jesus over to Abila, where Nathaniel and his associates labored. Nathaniel was much bothered by some of Jesus’ pronouncements which seemed to detract from the authority of the recognized Hebrew scriptures. Accordingly, on this night, after the usual period of questions and answers, Nathaniel took Jesus away from the others and asked: “Master, could you trust me to know the truth about the Scriptures? I observe that you teach us only a portion of the sacred writings — the best as I view it — and I infer that you reject the teachings of the rabbis to the effect that the words of the law are the very words of God, having been with God in heaven even before the times of Abraham and Moses. What is the truth about the Scriptures?” When Jesus heard the question of his bewildered apostle, he answered:

(1767.4) 159:4.2 “Nathaniel, you have rightly judged; I do not regard the Scriptures as do the rabbis. I will talk with you about this matter on condition that you do not relate these things to your brethren, who are not all prepared to receive this teaching. The words of the law of Moses and the teachings of the Scriptures were not in existence before Abraham. Only in recent times have the Scriptures been gathered together as we now have them. While they contain the best of the higher thoughts and longings of the Jewish people, they also contain much that is far from being representative of the character and teachings of the Father in heaven; wherefore must I choose from among the better teachings those truths which are to be gleaned for the gospel of the kingdom.

(1767.5) 159:4.3 “These writings are the work of men, some of them holy men, others not so holy. The teachings of these books represent the views and extent of enlightenment of the times in which they had their origin. As a revelation of truth, the last are more dependable than the first. The Scriptures are faulty and altogether human in origin, but mistake not, they do constitute the best collection of religious wisdom and spiritual truth to be found in all the world at this time.

(1767.6) 159:4.4 “Many of these books were not written by the persons whose names they bear, but that in no way detracts from the value of the truths which they contain. If the story of Jonah should not be a fact, even if Jonah had never lived, still would the profound truth of this narrative, the love of God for Nineveh and the so-called heathen, be none the less precious in the eyes of all those who love their fellow men. The Scriptures are sacred because they present the thoughts and acts of men who were searching for God, and who in these writings left on record their highest concepts of righteousness, truth, and holiness. The Scriptures contain much that is true, very much, but in the light of your present teaching, you know that these writings also contain much that is misrepresentative of the Father in heaven, the loving God I have come to reveal to all the worlds.

(1768.1) 159:4.5 “Nathaniel, never permit yourself for one moment to believe the Scripture records which tell you that the God of love directed your forefathers to go forth in battle to slay all their enemies — men, women, and children. Such records are the words of men, not very holy men, and they are not the word of God. The Scriptures always have, and always will, reflect the intellectual, moral, and spiritual status of those who create them. Have you not noted that the concepts of Yahweh grow in beauty and glory as the prophets make their records from Samuel to Isaiah? And you should remember that the Scriptures are intended for religious instruction and spiritual guidance. They are not the works of either historians or philosophers.

(1768.2) 159:4.6 “The thing most deplorable is not merely this erroneous idea of the absolute perfection of the Scripture record and the infallibility of its teachings, but rather the confusing misinterpretation of these sacred writings by the tradition-enslaved scribes and Pharisees at Jerusalem. And now will they employ both the doctrine of the inspiration of the Scriptures and their misinterpretations thereof in their determined effort to withstand these newer teachings of the gospel of the kingdom. Nathaniel, never forget, the Father does not limit the revelation of truth to any one generation or to any one people. Many earnest seekers after the truth have been, and will continue to be, confused and disheartened by these doctrines of the perfection of the Scriptures.

(1768.3) 159:4.7 “The authority of truth is the very spirit that indwells its living manifestations, and not the dead words of the less illuminated and supposedly inspired men of another generation. And even if these holy men of old lived inspired and spirit-filled lives, that does not mean that their words were similarly spiritually inspired. Today we make no record of the teachings of this gospel of the kingdom lest, when I have gone, you speedily become divided up into sundry groups of truth contenders as a result of the diversity of your interpretation of my teachings. For this generation it is best that we live these truths while we shun the making of records.

(1768.4) 159:4.8 “Mark you well my words, Nathaniel, nothing which human nature has touched can be regarded as infallible. Through the mind of man divine truth may indeed shine forth, but always of relative purity and partial divinity. The creature may crave infallibility, but only the Creators possess it.

(1768.5) 159:4.9 “But the greatest error of the teaching about the Scriptures is the doctrine of their being sealed books of mystery and wisdom which only the wise minds of the nation dare to interpret. The revelations of divine truth are not sealed except by human ignorance, bigotry, and narrow-minded intolerance. The light of the Scriptures is only dimmed by prejudice and darkened by superstition. A false fear of sacredness has prevented religion from being safeguarded by common sense. The fear of the authority of the sacred writings of the past effectively prevents the honest souls of today from accepting the new light of the gospel, the light which these very God-knowing men of another generation so intensely longed to see.

(1769.1) 159:4.10 “But the saddest feature of all is the fact that some of the teachers of the sanctity of this traditionalism know this very truth. They more or less fully understand these limitations of Scripture, but they are moral cowards, intellectually dishonest. They know the truth regarding the sacred writings, but they prefer to withhold such disturbing facts from the people. And thus do they pervert and distort the Scriptures, making them the guide to slavish details of the daily life and an authority in things nonspiritual instead of appealing to the sacred writings as the repository of the moral wisdom, religious inspiration, and the spiritual teaching of the God-knowing men of other generations.”

(1769.2) 159:4.11 Nathaniel was enlightened, and shocked, by the Master’s pronouncement. He long pondered this talk in the depths of his soul, but he told no man concerning this conference until after Jesus’ ascension; and even then he feared to impart the full story of the Master’s instruction.

Yep, you have no defense

I need no defense. Your excrement is no challenge to truth.

because you know the truth about the scripture.

Yes, I've engaged in years of valid Textual Criticism and other critical areas to examine truth.

You read an early 20th-century fictional novel with no such scrutiny.

The enemies of Jesus also knew this truth but they were also moral cowards.

You're far beyond being just a moral coward. You're a coward of every sort, among other things. There isn't much ad hominem that couldn't be applied to you and your fellow sci-fi reading room nerd units.

Your attempts at historical revision through accusing historical revision is less credible than a B-movie. Either the ice pick slipped during your lobotomy, or it's some genetic defect from alien in-breeding.

Your continued bare assertions and quotations of the anti-Jesus Papers are as invalid as your false god and false jesus. Your psychotropics dosage needs to be reduced substantially.

I’ve been studying the Bible and the Urantia papers for 28 years, the blunders of the Bible are obvious to a lamp post. The God created in the "Jews own image" doesn’t even require scholarship; the life of Jesus discredited it. The OT is the modern day equivalent of a patriotic blockbuster movie meant to rally the troops and reenflate the deflated nationalist ego's of Judaism. They doubled down and concocted a fiction that keeps a good portion of the world in a backward worldview of utter silliness.

Honest research

Fortunately our discussions here on the UB are sufficient to give investigators ample material to do their own study and research on the papers and derive what value or meanings can be afforded thereby. This includes their rejection or dismissal as well. That's the beauty of 'freedom of thought' and 'self-responsibility' in taking Jesus words to heart - "always be asking, seeking and knocking...and light/knowledge/understanding shall be given to you". One must dare to engage their own cognitive faculties in the pursuit of 'truth' in the areas of science, religion and philosophy. The frontiers of consciousness have no end.

Readers may survey the entire thread here to see if points of interest have already been covered, and may go directly here for Introductory articles on this particular revelation. Truth has nothing to fear, and a truth-seeker is always open to continual investigation, research and exploration. In the process of 'unfolding', truth is revealed as 'progressive revelation'.

In-joy :)

For those who value knowledge.......

For those who value knowledge.......

Does Darth Vader have anything to do with your beliefs?

Hi GM,

If you want to engage the purpose of the thread and the forum for that matter 'intelligently', you'll first have to educate yourself on what the UB is....and follow the dialogue and responses from knowledgable persons here on the variety of subjects concerning the UB. The comical pot shots do not foster a useful dialogue here. I love sci-fi by the way :) - the stories and mythology represented in epics such as Star Wars, Star Trek, etc. do cover issues of morality, ethics, philosophy, stretching our consciousness towards the unknown, the vast reaches and potentials of infinity. However, the UB is different and includes more elements expanding upon a base of human knowledge opening our vision to a greater cosmic-comprehension and picture of the Universe, and our purpose in it.

Anyone interested can begin with the Foreward and at least the first 12 Papers (online audio version access) to get a foundation of the theology of the papers, then they can understand better its teaching on who Jesus is from within this cosmological-context, regarding his lordship and Creator-ship of this planet (called by the revelators 'Urantia', hence the name the 'Urantia Papers', or 'Urantia Book'.) Even if one approaches it as a work of inspired religious fiction, or any other book for that matter of a religious/scientific/philosophical nature,....truths, principles, archetypes, concepts, correspondences of knowledge can be shared and insights revealed within such a work. That's one reason 'God' gave us an 'imagination'. Unfortunately some don't engage this faculty.

After the Foreward, the first Paper 1 is on 'The Universal Father' - the particular revelation on 'personality' is a noteworthy contribution of the papers.

Paper 1 - The Universal Father

Yes - I, for one, do not accept the UB as it presents itself but it is, for me, a wonderful repository of truth and profound insight. I do not say I am "right" to not accept it as it presents itself. Furthermore I would say that if the UB was the foundation of a major world religion then this world would be a FAR better place.

Nobody with a shred of integrity, insight, or credibility would even modestly entertain there being any actual truth in the Urantia dung.

It's of the same value as any other fictional novel, and is for entertainment value only, if someone is so inclined.

Good observation, since the truths, principles and concepts shared in the UB hold their universal value in-so-far as they are eternal principles and cosmic-concepts that pertain to the very essence, form and evolution of life and consciousness as we know it. It also superbly highlights the core of Jesus gospel centered in the 'Fatherhood of God & Brotherhood of Man'....where each soul realizes his own 'sonship' with God and lives the principles that sustain the kingdom where divine values and eternity-meanings are shared in association with others.
