It's more of a strong rebuke of the speculative theology that the owner of the vineyard had planned from the beginning to have his servants mistreated then his own Son killed and how that was a good thing for now the owner of the vineyard can finally forgive the husbandman of the strange country. One doesn’t need to be a spiritual genius to see that as an insult to God.

I actually pay attention to what the snake oil salesmen are saying.

Huh?

Isaiah 53:10 But the LORD was pleased To crush Him, putting Him to grief; If He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, And the good pleasure of the LORD will prosper in His hand.

Joh 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

Careful lest you be reported for blasphemy against the Father, Spirit and Son.

And indeed the creator Son did incarnate on the earth, he revealed God (gave his only Son) to man for he was God in man, but the changeless God has always been forgiving, Jesus didn't teach the Pagan atonement doctrine. The atonement doctrine of human sacrifice replaced the original “good news” gospel of Jesus, it’s theoretical and easier than personal responsibility and spirit rebirth.

1670.2) 149:2.1 Jesus understood the minds of men. He knew what was in the heart of man, and had his teachings been left as he presented them, the only commentary being the inspired interpretation afforded by his earth life, all nations and all religions of the world would speedily have embraced the gospel of the kingdom. The well-meant efforts of Jesus’ early followers to restate his teachings so as to make them the more acceptable to certain nations, races, and religions, only resulted in making such teachings the less acceptable to all other nations, races, and religions.

(1670.3) 149:2.2 The Apostle Paul, in his efforts to bring the teachings of Jesus to the favorable notice of certain groups in his day, wrote many letters of instruction and admonition. Other teachers of Jesus’ gospel did likewise, but none of them realized that some of these writings would subsequently be brought together by those who would set them forth as the embodiment of the teachings of Jesus. And so, while so-called Christianity does contain more of the Master’s gospel than any other religion, it does also contain much that Jesus did not teach. Aside from the incorporation of many teachings from the Persian mysteries and much of the Greek philosophy into early Christianity, two great mistakes were made:

(1670.4) 149:2.3 1. The effort to connect the gospel teaching directly onto the Jewish theology, as illustrated by the Christian doctrines of the atonement — the teaching that Jesus was the sacrificed Son who would satisfy the Father’s stern justice and appease the divine wrath. These teachings originated in a praiseworthy effort to make the gospel of the kingdom more acceptable to disbelieving Jews. Though these efforts failed as far as winning the Jews was concerned, they did not fail to confuse and alienate many honest souls in all subsequent generations.

(1670.5) 149:2.4 2. The second great blunder of the Master’s early followers, and one which all subsequent generations have persisted in perpetuating, was to organize the Christian teaching so completely about the person of Jesus. This overemphasis of the personality of Jesus in the theology of Christianity has worked to obscure his teachings, and all of this has made it increasingly difficult for Jews, Mohammedans, Hindus, and other Eastern religionists to accept the teachings of Jesus. We would not belittle the place of the person of Jesus in a religion which might bear his name, but we would not permit such consideration to eclipse his inspired life or to supplant his saving message: the fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of man.

A... Jesus didn't teach the Pagan atonement doctrine.
Actually it is not pagan and He did teach it...

Matthew 26:28
For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Mark 14:24
And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.

Of course you're basing that on what the urantia book says, and
not what the Bible says!

Actually, i think it was originally "bread and wine" like Melchizedek, they celebrated the first bloodless Passover, but by the time the gospels were written and subsequently edited, it became blood drinking and flesh eating just as practiced by the mystery religions of Rome....because they merged with Christianity.

oh, it's there, but you can't be honest with yourself about it.

The pre-cross gospel and the post-ascension gospel.

Matthew 4:23

"And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people."

"By this gospel you are saved...that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time..."

- 1 Cor. 15:2-6

There was the gospel of Jesus

and then there was the gospel of Paul; Christ-ianity.

The liberty must needs be, counter any reliance on
superficial stimuli! It would be advantages for the subordinate
personality of unique individuals, not pertaining to any
particular issue regarding a self-analysis, to exercise their full
potential in exploring the furthest reaches of their individual
consciousness!

I guess a four sided wheel would have never became round if we followed your type of thinking. The fear that controls you (ego) has many faces that hide that intent, which also holds you imprisoned to an idea of separation rather than liberate you among your fellow fractals of the lump we all spring from.

One currant runs many machines, but it is still the same currant that came from the same source.

(1572.7) 140:4.7 “By their fruits you shall know them.” Personality is basically changeless; that which changes — grows — is the moral character. The major error of modern religions is negativism. The tree which bears no fruit is “hewn down and cast into the fire.” Moral worth cannot be derived from mere repression — obeying the injunction “Thou shalt not.” Fear and shame are unworthy motivations for religious living. Religion is valid only when it reveals the fatherhood of God and enhances the brotherhood of men."

troll slop.................

troll slop.................

If we be trolls, why not report us to the woodshed?

It just so happens that some trolling is tolerated more than others, so reporting you might not affect much in the greater cosmic scheme of things, except maybe to titillate your ego some. As noted earlier, you've already been told about breaking rules here on TOL,...'trolling', 'being a thread-pest', 'unnecessary distraction', 'marginalizing the subject', not being here to dialogue or discuss anything.....just hurling pot shots, polemics and the usual one sided apologetics/pontifications/assertions. As far as actually discussing principles, terms, metaphysics/philosophy, THEOLOGY, cosmology, their associations/inter-relationships as they pertain to the universe, the message/gospel of Jesus, etc....not much from your side, except the 'Bible is true' and your 'book' or 'theology' is 'baloney'. That's all you have.....which is very little, and negative at that, to say nothing of the fact that you have chosen willful ignorance in not reading the text for yourself, neither comprehending it, to engage an actual dialogue.

At the end of the day,....it is that relational recognition and true religion, that reveals the Fatherhood of God and brotherhood of man, a universal truth founded on the principle of love.

Different gospels?

Different gospels?

Again, they still avoid the truth like vampires and holy water:

The pre-cross gospel and the post-ascension gospel.

This distinction of Jesus gospel and Paul's gospel has been recognized by many scholars and laymen alike. Some differentiate them as being opposed to one another or reconcile/harmonize them somehow, with varying positions inbetween, explaining them away as 2 separate 'dispensations' of teaching, etc. In any case,...the papers simply state that the post-ascension gospel, was mainly built from Paul's message to the gentiles, and some of the original disciples of Jesus who modified the message of Jesus to some degree with their own concepts in the greater cultural-context and expectations of the day. Regardless of what gospel-emphasis one takes, and the theological-belief implications or effects,...the fundamental law of love ("love God and your neighbor") is central, and is the principle upon which the kingdom of heaven operates. Remember, consider the principle, ethic, value and meaning behind these religious precepts. That's key.

Your ability to articulate in a precise manner is wasted on
this silly urantia book non-sense! You lose your credibility
worshiping this, fictionalized account of so called Bible
additions! It's so much bunk!
