RD is right, however, that is why there is another Israel in the NT! RD has me completely baffled on this. He is now saying what the NT says retroactively. He is saying what Paul said about the voiding and replacing of the Promise by the Law (by those in his Judaism), in Gal 3:17.
Well, he is not really right, for the ceremonial works did save people from being cast away...cut off from God.
One must divide the word better than that to understand the truth, for obeying God is always salvation. What though was salvation during the Old Testament times? Salvation was being able to call yourself righteous and a child of God. It was also about being able to die and be in a better place than that of the prison/hell sinners would go.
So then, did the ceremonial works save? Of course it did, but it did not reconcile us to God the way Jesus' blood does.
People have been taught wrong and they cannot see the difference and the subtle but powerful truth in that difference.
The Gentiles were separate and without God in the world, they were enemies of God because they did not purify themselves as God commanded. The Gentiles were said to be without God and dead in their sins because they did not clean themselves by doing the ceremonial works, they were unclean people and without Christ.
The Jews were...Romans 9:4 the people of Israel. Theirs is the adoption as sons; theirs the divine glory and the covenants; theirs the giving of the Law, the temple worship, and the promises. 5 Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them proceeds the human descent of Christ, who is God over all, forever worthy of praise! Amen.
See Right Divider and many do not see that obeying God was always the way, the way to the promise, the way to being a child of His. That was salvation back then.
Why was God going to kill Moses? God was going to kill Moses for not circumcising his son.
If you do not see salvation in that at all, then one cannot see.
