The Ever Present Problem of Atheism (HOF thread)

>>Atheism only leads to this: Temporary meaning in life is insufficient, for our accomplishments die with the death of the universe -- there is no ultimate purpose in a universe void of God.<<

It is insufficient only to those who cannot accept death. It is quite sufficient to those who can.

I'm willing to accept that when I die, I die. You are the one hiding your fear and trying to get out of dying by believing in some religion or other.

Thank you for making my point, Zakath. Your's was an unoriginal and banal attempt at a comeback. :bang:

Well, in case you ever decide to start that list, here are some ideas:

On Being An Atheist

1. just beacause it's raining doesn't mean that it's raining
2. ignorance IS bliss
3. when in doubt, argue
4. when arguing, YOU make the rules
5. if you break the rules, change them

More later. It's lunch time!

One small problem here, Roger: rain is readily verifiable. Supernatural entities are not.

Don't distract the religionist with facts, Gerald. They just get all confused and start ranting. :)

7. copy Christians, they set good examples ;)
Name 20 living today.

Caveat I: Present documentation that they are, in fact, Christians.

Caveat II: Present documentation that they are, in fact, Real Christians(TM).
:chuckle:

2. Dodging the question is the best apologetic. If you never have to argue the question you can merely retire and claim victory.
