Ironic, isn't it, that the vote count was likely manipulated by anti-vaxxers calling out on social media to flood the (very scientific!) internet poll?

""That is an overwhelming majority", editor-in-chief Ton den Boon of the Dikke Van Dale agrees. Many people on Twitter called to vote for this word. "That was done by people who do not want to be vaccinated. It reflects the polarization that lives in society around that vaccination and boosting it," said Den Boon in the NOS Radio 1 Journaal."

Michigan diner owner who defied state shutdown dies of COVID-19

Parney was first hospitalized for three days Sept. 29. Two days after his discharge, his family found him incoherent and confused and took him back to the hospital, according to a GoFundMe raising funds for his family.
He had not been vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to his illness, according to the GoFundMe post, but told his family he planned to get vaccinated after his discharge from the hospital, because the virus was worse than even the toughest military training he endured.

This is a really sad outcome, because this man could still be alive today, helping his wife fight her cancer. He had regrets, as many Covid patients do, and planned to get vaccinated when he recovered, but he didn't make it. If it helps only one reader, maybe someone else will live. An excerpt from his GofFundMe page, which is linked above so you can read it in its entirety:

"John suffered many medical setbacks since his arrival at the hospitals. John’s condition continued to worsen until he was required to go onto the ventilator nearly two weeks ago, where he remains today in critical care unit. During the period in which John was placed on the ventilator, sadly, his lung blew out requiring emergency surgery for a chest tube, which remains today. The past week has been most difficult for John’s journey as he received a tracheotomy and a feeding tube. He continues to struggle as he is heavily sedated and unable to speak due to his trach and his sedation with several units of blood given over the past few days as well as numerous care professionals at his side.
Within the next few days, if he is stable enough, John is going to be transferred to Specialty Select Hospital in Battle Creek Michigan. The journey will be long and we don’t know the outcome other than his life will be altered with the potential of a tracheotomy long-term. While we are a family of faith and John & Paula both have remarkable faith, Paula understands the reality and the very long battle this will be over the next year to get John home. If you know John Parney, you know that he is a fighter! A former United States Marine who served our country boldly and honorably discharged, he is a patriot through and through. He is a man of remarkable faith as well, having asked for his room to have Christian music piped in. He will fight and we will continue to pray!
For those who will ask, no, John was not vaccinated from COVID-19. However, during his battle, when he was able to talk, John shared with his family that he will be getting vaccinated because the battle, at that point, was worse than any training he endured in the military."

Do you agree with @Rusha that he should have been left in the parking lot to die?

So now that Trump has told Candace Owens this:

Trump: Oh, no. The vaccine worked. But some people aren't taking it. The ones that get very sick and go to the hospital are the ones that don't take the vaccine. But its still their choice, and if you take the vaccine, you're protected. Look the results of the vaccine are very good, and if you do get it, it's a very minor form. People aren't dying when they take the vaccine."

Wonder where Trump will stand with the MAGA base now.

It is sad that so many more vaccinated and unvaccinated Americans have died with covid under Biden than under Trump.

Hopefully, Trump is not promoting vaccine mandates designed to force all Americans to take the jab that is causing too many to get sick and die from vaccines.

Up to one in three Covid patients may have caught the illness in hospital, official figures show. That makes it hard to use the Covid hospitalisation data to justify new lockdown restrictions. The Telegraph has more.

At the peak this week, 31% of Covid patients included in the NHS’ daily admission figures for London had already been in the hospital for more than a week before testing positive, suggesting transmission occurred on the ward.
