For decades after Christ's resurrection and ascension, God communicated directly with ONE man ONLY.
God spoke directly to Paul on many occasions.
God did NOT speak to anyone else directly during that time.
God did NOT speak directly to ANY of the twelve apostles.
God DID speak directly to PAUL.
Paul had to communicate with the twelve because they did not know what Paul knew... since God spoke to PAUL and not to the twelve.
