Romans 5:18 KJV - 18 Therefore as by the offence of one [judgment came] upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one [the free gift came] upon all men unto justification of life.

Justification unto eternal life is a free gift by grace through the redemption of Christ Jesus.

Salvation is by grace; grace is not of ourselves; grace is the gift of God:

Ephesians 2:8 KJV - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:

Romans 3:24 KJV - Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Romans 6:23 KJV - For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

2 Corinthians 9:15 KJV - Thanks [be] unto God for his unspeakable gift.

God dispenses His grace differently at different times.

Sometimes God requires works and other times He explicitly rejects works.

Both still require grace to be saved.
