No, you cannot get a Mac for under $200, however, they are far superior than other computers insofar as security.
A chromebox is fine, depending on how you use your computer. I am not sure it would meet my specific needs, however, others who mainly browse, email, and converse on message boards shouldn't have a problem.
My mother has been interested in getting a computer and in her case, I think the chromebox would be a good fit.
