Since its given by Grace to believe on Christ as per Phil 1:29

For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

The word given here comes from the same word which we get the word grace. So we believe through Grace Acts 18:27

27 And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:

Now since its given by Grace to believe on Christ, its also given by Grace to hear, because faith cometh by hearing Rom 10:17

17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

So hearing is by Grace
as is believing !

Amen ! All those Christ died for, their Hearing and Believing is solely attributed to God's Grace, that is the Spirit of Grace Zech. 12:10 being poured upon them [all God's Elect]; Whose role it is to apply His Sanctification of them 1 Pet. 1:2; all the Chosen Seed Eph. 1:4-5; Deut. 7:6; Gal. 3:16, 29, which were Saved according to God's Purpose and Grace before the world began 2 Tim. 1:9.

Amen, thats when the Spirit quickens them with Life from Christ and commences His setting them apart unto belief of the truth 2 Thess 2:13

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

This when they receive their spiritual faculties of seeing and hearing, understanding the things of God !

Exactly Brother !

And those outside of God's Chosen ones, will never be given to see, hear and believe spiritually because they were appointed to stumble at the Truth 2 Thes. 2:10-12; 1 Pet. 2:8; John 3:18.

Christ died for our sins !

When we read Pauls words in 1 Cor 15:3

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

Paul means much more than stating an historical fact, though Christ's death is an historical, its much more, means much more. It means Christ died as a representative surety for their sins: the word for here huper means:

huper: over, beyond, fig. on behalf of, for the sake of, concerning or with regards to

in the place of, instead of
Philemon Vs 13

So it means that those Christ actually died for cannot never be charged with sin, since Christ has already been charged and died for them, So Paul writes Rom 8:33-34a

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Christ died for the sins of Gods elect charged to Him, so they cant be charged with sin, lest it leads to divine injustice ! He was charged with their sins, made guilty for them and made to take the punishment for them as their Surety Substitute !

All that is found in the words " Christ died for our sins"

Who are the ones called by the Gospel ?

Paul writes of those who heard the Gospel of their Salvation after which hearing they trusted/believed Eph 1:13

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

It was the same ones who a few verses before Paul wrote they had been predestinated to the adoption of Sons Eph 1:5

5Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

Paul wrote similar to the church of rome, writing of their being predestinated Rom 8:29

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

In Vs 30 he wrote the same should be called :

30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

The calling here is by the Gospel of their Salvation, its the same word called Paul uses in 2 Thess 2:14

Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In fact they're both in the same verb tense 3rd person aorist indicative active.

So the ones trusting/believing after hearing the Gospel of their Salvation are the predestinated ones and called !

Amen ! Christ as the Surety substitute Heb. 7:22 for all God's Elect Eph. 1:4-7; 1 Pet. 1:1-2; John 10:11, 15, had their sins blotted out at the Cross, so they could never still be in their sins because His death on their behalf took away their sins from God's Law and Justice Col. 2:13-14, and imputed them to Christ in their stead Rom 4:6-8; Is. 53:6. And after Christ dying for their sins, they were raised up together with Him because of their Justification from all their sins Rom. 4:25; Heb. 13:20.

2 Cor. 5:19
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Exactly. Trusting/believing and hearing of the Gospel are spiritual acts that can only please God by one who has already been made Spiritual Rom. 8:7-9; Sanctified by the Spirit [New Birth] and given the Ability John 3:27 to believe the Truth of the Gospel 2 Thes. 2:13-14 of the Grace of God by His Election of them before the world began 2 Tim. 1:9.

They Believe the Gospel because they were predestined to !

It was according to Gods Predestinating Purpose that they believe the Truth,
Eph 1:5, 11-13

5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Those who finally dont believe the word of the Gospel, they also were predestinated to disobey it 1 Pet 2:8

8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

Remember Paul wrote of some here that didn't obey the Gospel ? Rom 10:16

16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

Peter tells us why in 1 Pet 2:8

" even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed."

Same applys to 2 Thess 1:8

In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

They were predestined like others 1 Pet 2:8 to disobey the Gospel

Amen, God's Children Eph. 1:5; 1 Pet 1:2; Rom. 9:23 believing the Gospel of the Grace of God 2 Tim. 1:9 is the result of Him already saving them before the world began, and which necessitates them being born again in time: Given a New Heart/Spirit in New Birth Ezek. 36:26; Titus 3:5.

So the order is they are first saved, Born of God 2 Thes. 2:13 and given hearing ears Prov. 20:12; John 8:47a, then called by the Gospel 2 Thes. 2:13.

Rom. 6:17

But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

So those in Eph. 1:13 were only able to hear the Gospel of their Salvation after being given Faith / Trust Gal. 5:22 and Hearing ears in New Birth.

God's vessels of wrath Rom. 9:22, according to His Eternal Purpose in Christ Jesus Eph. 3:11 were appointed to be destroyed.

So there's no possibility of them believing the Gospel, as it has been purposely hid from them.

2 Cor. 4:3-4

3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 4 n whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

John 12:40
He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

More on the Gospel message !

Paul writes this about the Gospel 1 Cor 15:1-4

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Lets understand however that these statements by no means exhaust the Gospel of Christ that Paul preached. In another place Paul goes into more detail on the Gospel he preached, 2 Cor 5:19-21

19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

21For he hath made him to be sin for us[See 1 Cor 15:3], who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

The Gospel announces the fact that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their sins unto them. The world of them whose sins arent charged to them are reconciled to God through Christ, thats the world here, not all without exception, but Gods elect. Paul asks the rhetorical question concerning them here in Rom 8:33

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

The ones Christ died for according to scripture in 1 Cor 15:3 doeth coincide with the ones Paul said Christ was made sin for in 2 Cor 5:21

More on the Gospel message !

Also the ones Christ died for, He being made sin for them 2 Cor 5:21, they interchangeably were made the righteousness of God in Him. Thats a Gospel Truth, Paul proves that in Rom 1:16-17

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Now that righteousness of God revealed in the Gospel of Christ is that righteousness of God they were made in the interchange of having Christ being made sin for them in 2 Cor 5:21 when He died for them:

21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

So sinners Christ died for being made the righteousness of God by Christ is a Gospel of Christ Truth !

Yes Sir, absolutely !

The "our sins" Christ died for in 1 Cor. 15:3 is not the sins of all men without exception, but exclusively for them who are God's Beloved elect, Chosen in Christ before the foundation of the World Eph. 1:4 to have redemption through His Blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His Grace Eph. 1:7. And the Righteousness / Justification 2 Cor. 5:21 they have in Christ is revealed in the Gospel to Faith given them in New Birth Gal.5:22; Rom. 8:33.

Scriptural proof? Here is mine.
Paul had delivered to the Corinthians the message that he had also received as divine revelation. The first cardinal message of that message was that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures. This emphasizes the substitutionary character of the death of Christ. he did not die for his own sins, or as a martyr; He died for our sis. He died to pay the penalty that our sins deserved. This was all according to the Scriptures. The Scriptures here refer to the OT Scriptures, since the NT was not yet in written form. Did the OT Scriptures actually predict that Christ would die for the sins of the people. The answer is an emphatic yes! Isaiah 53 verses 5 and 6 are sufficient proof of this. What's the righteousness the Gospel reveals to Faith ? One writer wrote and i quote:

The righteousness of Christ, which was wrought out in His
life and death, is revealed in the gospel (Rom. 1:16, 17). What
is the gospel? The gospel proclaims certain objective facts
concerning the birth, sinless life, death, and resurrection of
Christ; but these facts do not in themselves constitute the
gospel. Only when these objective facts are associated with a
subjective deliverance from sin is the gospel effected. The
gospel, therefore, is not an offer of salvation; it is the power
of God unto salvation (Rom. 1:16). This gospel does not come
merely to inform man of objective facts; it invades man’s life
with a work of creation (II Cor. 5:17; Eph. 2:8-10; Ezek.

TY Brother for posting these excellent thoughts by W. Best !

Amen, having a knowledge of objective facts about Christ doesn't make anyone righteous.

But the Gospel Revelation of the Righteousness of God Rom. 1:17 is revealed subjectively [in the New Mind Ezek. 36:25-27] to those who have been given Faith / Belief in New Birth, a fruit of the Spirit Gal. 5:22: Eph. 1:13, which bears evidence that the Righteousness of Christ, their Surety Saviour Heb. 7:22, was imputed to them from Everlasting Ps. 32:1-2 according to God's Law and Justice. For that's the only way the Righteousness of God can be revealed to them in the Gospel, and it's exclusively to them, God's Elect, that the Gospel of God's Grace is the Power of God 2 Tim. 1:8-9.

Rom. 8:16-19

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.

The Gospel is a revelation of Jesus Christ !

In order to believe the Gospel, it must come by spiritual revelation. Paul wrote of himself Gal 1:11,12

11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

See even as an Apostle, by nature like any other sinner, the things of God were foolishness to him, neither could he know them 1 Cor 2:14

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Paul learned the Gospel of his Salvation by revelation of Jesus Christ. This is how all sinners learn of the Gospel of their Salvation, by revelation of Jesus Christ Rom 1:16-17

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

17 For therein [The Gospel of Christ]is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

Now the word revelation in Gal 1:12 is the greek word apokalypsis which is from apokalyptō the greek word for revealed in Rom 1:17 which means :

  1. to uncover, lay open what has been veiled or covered up
    1. disclose, make bare
  2. to make known, make manifest, disclose what before was unknown

See by nature these spiritual things of God cannot be known 1 Cor 2:14

14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

They must be revealed by the Spirit of Christ 1 Cor 2:10

10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

The same word revealed as in Rom 1:17

Since the Gospel tidings reveal unto the saved spiritual realities, he must be a spiritually alive to receive them by Faith, which Faith is a fruit of the Spirit Gal 5:22

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

And the Gospel reveals the righteousness of God unto Faith Rom 1:17

17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
