:BRAVO:
Praise the Lord!
There shall be showers of blessing.
Ezekiel 34:26
oly:
There Shall be Showers of Blessing
There shall be showers of blessing: this is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing, sent from the Savior above.
Showers of blessing, Showers of blessing we need:
Mercy drops round us are falling, but for the showers we plead.
Praise the Lord! Amen! and Amen!

There Shall be Showers of Blessing

Mercy Drops It’s hard to carry a full bucket of water with a steady hand, some spilling will occur…When the gardener carries a full bucket of water while walking the path to the place in need of much water, the flowers along the pathway will benefit has well from the spilling drops of water that splash on them, and after getting those unexpected refreshing drops of water, their drooping buds lift their heads, and the blossoms show forth the radiant beauty that is in them, all because of a few drops of water. In the hymn, “There Shall be Showers of Blessing,” the chorus reads, “Mercy drops round us are falling.” Do we think of ourselves and those mercy drops in the light of little blessings? Little blessings like spilling drops of water, drops of water spilled along the way on others as we go to tend someone or some specific task; there times when we are those mercy drops, those small mercy drop blessings that we give to others. Nothing major, a momentary blessing, that bit of mercy, that kind touch that revives the weary soul, lifts the sagging spirit, and refreshes heart and spirit. We can do it because of the fruit of the spirit in us is watered and renewed everyday by the Holy Spirit. The daily filled cup we carry is meant to overflow and touch lives, in some instances like sprinkle if but for a moment those “Mercy drops” regardless of how small will be a blessing to others — Dare we say, “Fill My Cup Lord,” so “He will fill your heart today with overflowing.” But how are we when we do not feel blessed to the full and overflowing? Still another will come along, like the gardener who carries a water filled bucket, filled with golden drops that will spill out a blessing, a blessing of love, mercy and kindness, then we are revived, what precious time of reviving, Hallelujah! Remember He forgets not His own, and calls us by name, He anoints us to be a blessing, to radiate the loveliness and truth of the altogether lovely — Jesus. We are those mercy drops of cheer, encouragement, help, hope, comfort, and love — You know, I think I hear the foot steps of our Great and Glorious Gardener. |
