One cannot be "born again
"by their own efforts...because you are spiritually DEAD!
You mean one can't be redeeemed by his own effort!
In Galatians 2:20 Paul is saying that he has been crucified with Christ, nevertheless he lives. Yet not himself, it is Christ who lives within him. And the life he lived, he lived by faith in the Son of God who loved him and gave himself for Paul.
The KJV points up the need for the Holy Spirit in the mix. Get a more truthful translation, one that doesn't read man can live without Him. Seems you have a contradiction to deal with.
It is ALL GOD doing the work in us.
I seriously doubt God could ever go against your will.
There is no prerequisite, no meritorious factors that God requires before God makes dead men alive in Christ. God does so by His Sovereign will, by His Sovereign choice, without any requirement from humans. How could God require a dead man to do something to give him life?
Yeah, yeah, and you're going to get a white horse if you get to heaven and rule and reign with Christ over the nations, and all while never having to surrender your earthbound life to Him Who calls you to Himself while you are still breathing in this one. Well, on second thought, you can't do that because you aren't born again.
When God makes us alive in Christ, God adopts us, God justifies us, God baptizes us, God sanctifies us. God does it all by His amazing grace.
God Adopts sons not babies. Even Jesus was adopted. Scripturally speaking, you don't make the cut. You don't have His DNA living in you.
You are the product of His amazing work, you cannot boast in ANYTHING you have done because you haven't done anything.
For His Redeeming me, you are absolutely correct. Jesus set me free from the sin stain of Adam when He died on the cross. For His saving Grace; for His New Birth, You're all wet. Both are my choices to make. That is the way scripture explains it. That is the way IT MUST BE for my love *TO Him and His LOVE *TO ME be of any value in eternity. "Choose this day whom you will serve" . .Joshua, remember?
*Love in action (cf John 17:3 any translation).
