Mr. Irrelevant? Chad Kelly, the troubled qb from Ole Miss. The upside, he's already had plenty of practice at being that and a degree that's likely mostly that. :plain:

This is about all I will have in this thread, aside from the rookies and career criminals that can't stay straight.

Meeechigan had 11 players drafted and 7 more sign undrafted free agent contracts. Impressive for Crazy Jim.

Mel Kiper has never been a great draft analyst. But he has always gotten air time for reasons unknown to me. Now, his football commentary is getting really bad. Do you ever wonder what games he is watching?

I think it's the Count Chocula association. Harder to put down than Old Yeller. :plain:

In the draft the Cowboys got five players who were within their top 68 prospects. That means that they got five players who were essentially second round picks! Not a bad haul!

Of course it was fortunate that the Boy's main need was the defensive backfield and this year's draft was loaded at that position.

In their latest Super Bowl odds, the William Hill sportsbook in Vegas has listed the Patriots as heavy favorites to win it all next season. The Patriots were originally listed as 4-1 favorites by William Hill in February, and have now moved up to 3-1 odds.

The Raiders have the second-best odds at 15/2 (up from 12/1) in February, while the Cowboys have the third-best Super Bowl odds, even if they got slightly worse (from 7-1 to 8-1)...In any case, William Hill has the Cowboys behind the Raiders, but ahead of other early post-season favorites. Per 5/6/2016, William Hill has the Packers (17/2) sitting right behind the Cowboys, and the Falcons (12/1), Seahawks (12/1), and Steelers (12/1) not far behind.

Former Patriots linebacker Aaron Hernandez is a murderer. He was unjustly in prison for murdering a man over a bag of marijuana. He hung himself in his cell this morning. Just in case you missed SportsCenter this morning when you were drinking your coffee.

I'm glad he is gone.
There are a lot of richer people now who are also glad.

My understanding is that he rigged it so that he could apply just enough pressure to his carotid artery to slow blood flow to his brain enough so that he blacked out, and then gravity took over and he was gone.

He wrote "John 3:16" in his own blood on the wall of his cell.

Interesting. I was looking at CBS ranking strength of schedule this year. The Pats have the 12th hardest schedule, which given their talent pool is pretty sweet if you're a NE fan.

The Raiders are looking at the 4th hardest with a team that has something to prove. Seems optimistic as odds go. Really depends on whether the run their qb put together before his injury was the new rule or an aberration.

The Cowboys own the 10th hardest schedule, which gives that talent a little breathing room while being tough enough to test them.

Packers: 18th, weaker than average schedule for a team that can compete with anyone? The odds make sense.
Atlanta: 13th (see: same general comment as with NE).
Seattle: 25th, and the football gods are smiling on the 12th man.
Steelers: 27th, ditto.

The Steelers have the 4th easiest schedule in the NFL.

If Martavis Bryant can go the whole season drug free, combined with 2nd round WR JuJu Smith-Schuster from USC (in addition to Antonio Brown), a healthy Ladarius Green at TE, and 3rd round RB James Conner helping LeVeon Bell...the Steelers could have the 2nd most potent offense in the NFL (New England being #1).

As for the offseason....LETS GO PENS!!!!

Speaking of Antonio Brown, I'm sure no one saw this story, but Brown left the mother of his children for a super model a few months ago. However, last week, Brown dumped the super model, and returned to the mother of his children.

Not the greatest story, but a breath of fresh air compared to most off-season personal stories of black NFL players.

Since this is the NFL offseason, I must point out the following:

The Pittsburgh Penguins won Game 7 tonight in Washington. The Penguins are now 6-0 in Game 7's on the road all-time.

That's an incredible stat. If you take all the Game 7 stats from the World Series, NBA, and NHL, very few teams win Game 7 on the road. The Cav's did it last year in Sacramento, but it doesn't happen very often.

To be 6-0 all-time in Game 7's on the road is amazing.

As for the NFL, the only thing comparable is winning a Conference Championship Game on the road. So, let's look as some stats:

In the AFC, only the Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos are above .500 on the road. Miami is 1-0, and Denver is 2-1 on the road.

In the NFC, only the NY Giants are above .500, and they are an impressive 3-0 on the road in the NFC Championship Games.

Of the Patriots 7 trips to the Super Bowl in the Brady/Belichick era, 5 of their AFC Championship wins took place in Foxboro, while the other 2 AFC Championship wins took place in Pittsburgh :madmad:....however, the Patriots are 3-3 all-time on the road in AFC Championship Games.

I don't know why they wouldn't be the favorite team out of the NFC.
The money has a hard time loving Atlanta. It's a team with a reputation for being fragile that seemed to be dispelled last year, going into half time of the Super Bowl. The next thing you know they're the 94 Super Bowl Bills and then some. Is the problem under center? Has he been too tainted by that legacy and did the biggest game expose the Falcons weak jaw again?

It sure looks that way to many. I don't believe the league respects Atlanta and until they earn that by finishing this epic collapse will cement that old impression.

Pittsburgh is a good sports town

Yes it is.

Since 1960, Pittsburgh is 13-3 in major sports championships.

Steelers 6-2 (Super Bowls)
Pirates 3-0 (World Series)
Penguins 4-1 (Stanley Cup Finals)

I feel bad for you St. Louis fans. On one hand you guys have the second greatest team in baseball (behind the Yankees), but your Blues have never won a Stanley cup, and your NFL Cardinals and Rams have both left.
