We weren't a good football team this year which is somewhat disappointing . Hopefully though we go out with a bang and beat Carolina and Tampa at thei home fields.

As a Buc fan, I hope not...but I am rather surprised by the performance they gave this year. I had them 1st or 2nd in the division....

That was straight up....I am still mulling over the line...
It's been a strange year. I've had 12 win against the line weeks and an 8-8 late. Last week I went 10-6.

Week 16

1. Was @ Ten (10.5): I'm taking the team with a qb, though that's a big line.

Proj.: 26-15

2. Bal @ Bolts (4.5): two very good teams, but I have more faith in the Chargers' balance.

Proj: 28-32 Bolts

3. Atl @ Car (3.5): Cam is sitting. He's half their battle.

Proj: 24-17 Falcons

4. Buf @ NE (12.5): the Pats need to win and they're a different team at home.

Proj: 29-10 Pats

5. Cin @ Cle (6.5): really?

Proj: 13-16 Browns

6. TB @ Dal (7.5): the Cowboys look to rebound at home against the enigma that is TB.

Proj: 14-27 Cowboys

7. Min (5.5) @ Det: now that they're running the ball...well...

Proj: 21-18 Min

8. GB @ Jets (.5): Rodgers says he's playing. If he does he'll already do more than the Jets have done lately.

Proj: 24-16 GB

9. Gia @ Ind (9.5): gimmicks against solid team play?

Proj: 16-30 Ind

10. Jac @ Mia (4.5): two mediocre, unpredictable offenses with decent defenses makes for an expensive nap.

Proj: 14-16 Mia

11. Hou @ Phi (.5): a sign that Vegas is buying into a late turnaround by Philly or a lack of confidence in the still newly minted Texans? Maybe both are true.

Proj: 27-24 Houston

12. Chi (3.5) @ SF
: this one is hard to understand. Reading too much into the Niners OT win against Seattle?

Proj: 28-16 Bears

13. Rams (14.5) @ Arz: a big line, but it's Arizona.

Proj: 31-9 Rams

14. Pit @ NO (6.5): could be the most interesting and competitive game. Steelers need it. NO is still fighting for home field throughout.

Proj: 31-40 Saints

15. KC (2.5) @ Seattle: the road loss to SF isn't doing them any favors, And they need favors at this point.

Proj: 32-27

16. Den (2.5) @ Oak: Way to round out the week... if you hate football.

Proj: 17-15 Oak

Need the Chargers to beat the Ravens.

If that happens, then the Steelers need to only win one of their last two games to win the division.

Watching the Steelers in that wrenching loss I have to say I'm more convinced that if they had Bell at present they'd be my favorite to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.

As with the ridiculous late go for it call, Pittsburgh appears to be its own stumbling block to success these days.

That would be nice, but I doubt that's happening.

Given how horrible the Pats have been this December, the tournament is not looking good, even if they do capture the top seed. Even if they just beat the Jets, at 11-5, they have the second seed undisputed. Weak AFC this year.

And I've already mentioned what everybody already knows, the Chiefs are as likely to lose the division round as the Pats are. If the Pats can eek out a win at home against whomever it is, and the coinflip in KC goes against Reed, then NE'll have the effective top seed anyway.

But this is not NE's year. It looks like possibly KC's, possibly LAC's, possibly NOLA's, possibly SEA's, but not NE's. Possibly but less likely, Dallas's.
New England clinches a first-round bye with:
'Last 12 times NE's got the bye, eight of those times, they went to the SB. It very likely will fall to 8-out-of-13 this year, assuming they beat the Jets.
1. NE win
They Should win.
OR
2. NE tie
It's not going to be a tie.
+ HOU loss or tie OR
3. BAL loss or tie + HOU loss + TEN loss or tie
I worry about them playing Baltimore, LAC, or the Colts in the divisional round. I don't even know if one of these teams is ruled out by the structure of the tournament, but these teams scare me as an NE fan, even playing at home. If they have to play Houston or Tennessee again I'm unconcerned.

This all presumes that they can beat NYJ and remain healthy of course.

It was really weird rooting for the Browns, and as expected, they let me down.

Only way the Steelers make the playoffs is if Colts & Titans tie tonight.

Since the NFL went to sudden death in 1974, there have been 24 ties.

Neither the Colts or Titans have ever been involved with one of those ties.

So.......the Steeler's season is over.
