On Tobacco Road growing up in the 70s, legend had it that David Thompson could take a dollar bill off of the top of the backboard and leave change. :noid:


That was not told just in North Cackalacky. Larry Nance of the Phoenix Suns had same rumor about the top of the back board. Nance could jump like the Dr and was 6"10".

Dr. J mostly jumped off of one leg. MJ and most other players usually jump off both legs.

I am familiar with it. One leg jumpers go higher from basic bio mechanics. Take me for example. At 6'1.5" (and white) when 17, I could touch the top of the square like LeBron James did against GS. ESPN sports science segment claimed he was 11 feet something. But that is not how high the square is.

Which is why I know that is true about Nance and Thompson.

I think Dwayne Wade past his prime is an improvement over Derrick Rose.

San Antonio routed Kevin Durant and the Golden State Warriors last night....AT GOLDEN STATE.

There will be no 24-0 start for the Warriors this year.
