Christ the Mediator !
Christ the Mediator !
1 Tim 2:5
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
The word Mediator is the greek word mesités: an arbitrator, a mediator :
a mediator, intermediary, (b) a go-between, arbiter, agent of something good.
mesítēs (from 3319 /mésos, "in the middle") – properly, an arbitrator ("mediator"), guaranteeing the performance of all the terms stipulated in a covenant (agreement).
/mesítēs (a "mediator") intervenes to restore peace between two parties, especially as it fulfills a compact or ratifies a covenant.
Notice the Mediator restores Peace with TWO parties, God and Men ! Christ the Mediator has restored Peace and Harmony between both God and Men, as the Covenant Mediator Heb 8:6
6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
Christ has successfully reconciled God to man and man to God, or else He has failed as an Mediator in the Covenant Work of God. Now many in false religion say yes, even though Christ has reconciled those He died for to God Rom 5:10, but that it is only a one-sided reconciliation; Now if that were so [but its not] that would leave His Work as Mediator undone, only half done, and so now who should receive the credit for undone portion of the reconciliation, if it be not Christ ? Antichrist gives the credit to man's so called freewill !
But I testify today of a Mediator Name Christ Jesus 1 Tim 2:5, who hath by His Death ALONE, both reconciled God to man and effects the reconciliation of man back to God out of his estranged enmity, for that was a key purpose for His being put to death 1 Pet 3:18
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
Jn 10:16
16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
So His reconciliation Work as Mediator is completely thorough Col 1:20-22
20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
Now what can be more plainer than this passage attributing to Christ's DEATH, The Body of His Flesh, reconciling to God those who had been sometime alienated and hostile enemies in their minds towards Him, when He Loved them !
Remember how hostile and angry and full of enmity the Apostle Paul was before, when he was saul Acts 9:1-2
And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.
That word slaughter in the original means murders ! Then remember in an instant he was docile and submitted to Christ Acts 9:3-6
3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:
4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
He now readily submitted to God's Will Acts 22:14
And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.
This change in Paul is to the Credit of Christ's Death, The Power of His Resurrection Col 1:20-22
See God had always been reconciled to Saul, but Saul was not reconciled to God, and so it is with all for whom He died as Covenant Mediator, He effects an complete Reconciliation of God to man and man to God, for any to deny Him this success is antichrist and deny that He is Mediator in Power !
