Must be made meet first !

Must be made meet first !

One must be already spiritual at the time of the Gospel call to them, for its a call into fellowship and communion with God 1 Cor 1:9

9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

And since God and Christ are Spirit and Spiritual, so must be the fellowship, and which the flesh cannot participate, therefore they have to be made Spiritual which can only be by being born of the Spirit, hence Jesus says Jn 3:6

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

If we have only been born of the flesh, natural birth, then we are not meet to be a recipient of the Gospel call unto the Fellowship of God in Christ !

Thank God for being servants to sin !

Thank God for being servants to sin !

Rom 6:16-17

16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

What is God to be Thanked for in this verse says Paul ? Actually its Two things here that Believers should Thank God for . #1. That they were at one time servants of sin [unbelievers or as Jesus stated here Jn 8:34] and #2 That they became obedient from the Heart, to that form of Doctrine delivered unto them, which Doctrine is the Christian Gospel.

This speaks to the obedience of Faith !

Does it sound strange to say, God be thanked that ye were the servants f sin ? Well, its not a problem when we understand that its nothing less than Thanking God for choosing them to Experience Salvation through Jesus Christ, His Liberating Death Jn 8:34-36

34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.

36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

In order to be Grateful to God for this being made free by the Son, they had to first be made the servants of sin in adam !

Now understand, this can only apply to God's Elect in Christ and no others ! Those chosen to Salvation 2 Thess 2:13

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

Thank God for being servants to sin !2

Thank God for being servants to sin !2

Now lets look at the #2 reason why God should be Thanked Rom 6:17

17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

If man receives the Doctrines of the Gospel by his own freewill as the deceived tell us, then why Thank God ? Why not Thank themselves ?

However the Truth of this matter is that God should be and is Thanked for ones believing because it is He that makes us obedient to the Truth delivered unto us.

This is seen here 2 Thess 2:13

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

Belief of the Truth is the exact same as Obedience to the Truth as here 1 Pet 1:22

Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

Through the Spirit and Sanctification of the Spirit are the same Work of His !

Now notice with Rom 6:17 and 2 Thess 2:13 the similar expressions of Thankfulness to God for belief in both places. We cannot and do not believe Gospel Doctrines / Teachings in the flesh, its something the Spirit of God can gives us to do, and in this we believe because of Grace Acts 18:27

27 And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace or the Grace of the Spirit:

Because of God working in us to will and to DO of His good pleasure Phil 2:13

13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

The sinfulness and sinful acts of God's Creatures does not come from God as He is in us causing us to sin, but from their own inherent sinfulness by nature, which does come from His First Cause ! All men are born like this [sinful] by nature, with a spirit like this at work in them Eph 2:2

2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Now God is the One and only who creates every man in the womb with this spirit of operation in us by nature Eph 2:3; For the devil does not have creative ability, though he has a lot of superhuman ability.Yes, the sin nature in every man by nature is God's creation, David realized this Ps 51:5

5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

Indeed, I was born guilty.
I was a sinner when my mother conceived me.

That spirit of disobedience is the immediate cause of our sinfulness, but God created it and imprisoned us in it Rom 11:32 !

In fact it was created in adam and eve in the beginning, that's why they disobeyed in the day of their temptation Rom 5:19

19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Man has always been a sinner by nature, even when he was not one one by actual transgression or practice. So God is not the causative author of sin in us propelling us, but He is the Author of the author or causer of sin in us. God is not the immediate first cause of sin into the world, but He is the direct first of the first cause that is !

To accept something offered is a work !

To accept something offered is a work !

Many deceived souls in our day, who deny Salvation by Grace, they say Salvation comes to those who accept it. No such teaching is in the scripture; However to accept something that is offered is an exertion of the will, even if it be ever so slight, and the slightest exertion done by us is a work done by us. To say that a person is saved because they accept a gift offered to them is nothing but promoting Salvation by our works !

This is absolutely true.

The only sense in which one could say one is saved by receiving a gift is that in which the gift is given by the giver....... the supposed will of the receiver is a construct of the mind and nothing else.

The only sense in which one could say one is saved by receiving a gift is that in which the gift is given by the giver.

Yes, the Gifts that God gives, He actually puts you into possession of the Gift, so He gives it to you. Eph 4:8

Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

Remember when God gave the Gentiles the Holy Spirit at Peter's Preaching ? Acts 10:44

While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

Well Peter said it was given to them Acts 11:15,17

And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

It was not offered to them to either accept it or reject it, that's just nonsense !

2 Tim 3:15-16

16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

As we read and study the scriptures, God has been pleased at times to give us certain light and understanding on a particular portion of scripture; and as we feel the desire to testify to that Truth, it at times is difficult in placing it in any given Thread. So I would like to introduce a thread that is designed for varied Truth's of scripture, not really given to any certain subject, but yet its Truth the same.

The first scripture passage i will begin with is 2 Tim 1:9-10

9Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

10But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
I see some other truths expressed in 2 Timothy 1:9-10. These may already be talked about it. I've just begun to read this thread.

The first thing is we are saved and called not according to our works, but according to God's own purpose imputing to us grace, unmerited favor. We are not saved by works, but saved by grace. This grace was given to us through Christ Jesus before the world began. This confirms Jesus was with the Father before the world began. His calling us is sometimes referred to as election. Can we resist this calling? Can we resist the power of God's calling? I don't think so.

What meaneth the Resurrection of Jesus Christ ?

What meaneth the Resurrection of Jesus Christ ?

1 Pet 1:3

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

What meaneth the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead in this matter ?

Peter means by this, that all for whom Jesus Christ died, and rose again from the dead, that those He died and rose in behalf of had a Union with Him in the same; and the evidence of one being in Union with Him in His Resurrection from the dead, is their own spiritual resurrection from the dead Eph 2:5 or their being begotten again by means of it. That's Right, their New Birth is but an evidence of their Union with Him He the Head, they a member of His Body, in His Resurrection from the dead. Their being begotten again is their experimental partaking of their Resurrection with Christ from the dead Eph 2:6

6 And hath raised us up together[in union with], and made us sit together[in union with] in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

In this sense also, they are the Children of the Resurrection, Remember Jesus their Head said Jn 11:25

25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

And those He died and arose in behalf of are His Seed, His Body !

Who is this Angel doing this ? Rev 20:1-3

Who is this Angel doing this ? Rev 20:1-3

Rev 20:1-3

And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

Notice these things about this Angel.

1. He came down from Heaven.

2. He had in His Right Hand the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain. What do these items mean. The Key and the Chain, and His Right Hand ?

3. And He laid hold of the Dragon. What does this laying hold of mean. Who is the dragon ?

4. This Angel bound the dragon a thousand years

5. This Angel cast him[the dragon] into the bottomless pit which resulted in him not able to deceive the nations for the duration of 1000 yrs.

Now who is this Angel in Johns Vision. I believe the Angel is the Lord Jesus Christ.

The wrath of God is upon who ?

The wrath of God is upon who ?

Rom 1:18

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

The wrath of God is upon them who do not receive the Love of the Truth Thess 2:10-12 ! That's why they cannot receive it because they are under God's Wrath and they are condemned Jn 3:36

36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

All who are presently under God's Wrath, and do not receive the Truth, Christ did not die for them.

The word wrath orgḗ one of its meanings is :

("settled anger") proceeds from an internal disposition which steadfastly opposes someone or something based on extended personal exposure, i.e. solidifying what the beholder considers wrong (unjust, evil).

Those under God's Wrath means that He from an internal disposition of disdain opposes them.

Now, this wrath of God cannot apply to anyone Christ died for, because all for whom He died, have by His Death been reconciled to God Rom 5:10, even while they are unbelievers/enemies. So God has no internal disposition of disdain , hate against them. Yes I said hate as in Ps 5:5

5 The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.

Those whom Christ died for, His Wrath cannot be against them because also He is their propitiation 1 Jn 2:2 meaning God's wrath on behalf of them has already been satisfied and appeased, hence God has no just reason or cause to have them under His Wrath Jn 3:36, not at anytime, for Christ's Sake, and His Great Love Sake.

The reason why any are under God's Wrath Jn 3:36; Rom 1:18 is #1. They have been appointed to wrath and not Salvation 1 Thess 5:9

9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

#2. They were in the Eternal Purpose of God made Vessels of Wrath to be fitted for destruction Rom 9:22

22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:

The word fitted denotes an arrangement of men whose souls God has so constituted that they cannot escape destruction !

Remember Jesus said to these Matt 23:32-33

32 Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.

33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

These are born under God's Wrath, live their entire lives under it,and shall die under it, they shall never see Life Jn 3:36

36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

It s Just that simple, if the wrath of God is abiding on one, that one shall not see life, that is Life and Peace with Christ in His Eternal Kingdom !

Keeping the commandments of God !

Keeping the commandments of God !

Rev 14:12

Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

How do we keep the commandments of God ? The scripture teaches that the just [justified] shall live by Faith Gal 3:11

11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

That's the answer, one keeps the Law or Commandments of God by Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, You see, the Keeping of the Commandments of God: Ecclesiastes 12:13

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

This requires Perfect Obedience in Heart, Life, Speech, thoughts, which is to be found only in the Physical/Spiritual Obedience rendered to God's Law at Christ performed throughout the entire of His brief stay while here on Earth. Yes made under the Law Gal 4:4

But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

For He in every aspect fulfilled the Law for His People, for He told John the Baptist Matt 3:15

And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

He magnified the Law and made it Honorable Isa 42:21

21 The Lord is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.

That's speaking of Jesus Christ ! In that He perfectly fulfilled God's Holy Law, but not for Himself, but for all of them that shall believe on Him Rom 10:4

4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

The Purpose of the Law given by God was never for man to keep in order of Righteousness, but for Christ to Keep. That was the only way it could be made Honorable to God's Satisfaction.

Keeping the commandments of God !2

Keeping the commandments of God !2

Rom 10:4

4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

Now they are believing because to them, His Perfect Law Obedience as been charged or imputed to them, and in the time of Faith, they come to Live by the knowledge of it, and hence it cometh to past, the Just shall live by Faith, and in that, their God given Faith, they keep all of the Commandments Perfectly, through Him who Lived and died in their behalf. So everyone Christ died for, He also Lived for, and they because of that keep all the Commandments of God and the Faith of Jesus Christ Rev 14:12

12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Now if we do not know ourselves to keep them in this manner, then we are debtors to do the whole Law Gal 5:3; James 2:10

They are indebted to do it perfectly or face the serious consequences of hell

Not all the Beloved of God !

Not all the Beloved of God !

Those whom God out of Justice sends a strong delusion to, so that they believe a lie, or makes them believe that which is not true See 2 Thess 2:11-12, they are in contrast to those He Loved in Christ, The Beloved of God [accepted in the Beloved [Eph 1:6], who do through the Holy Spirit, believe the Truth 2 Thess 2:13.

In light of this most obvious contrast which starts out with a BUT transitioning from Vs 12 to Vs 13, we conclude they of 2 Thess 2:11-12 were not the Beloved of God. The Non Elect were not Beloved by God which certainly means they were not Loved by God, which is made clear in Rom 9:13

13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. Esau was hated by God, which he also represents all of the non elect who are hated, and shall not believe the Truth but a Lie.

Things freely given us of God Rom 8:32 !

Things freely given us of God Rom 8:32 !

More on the all things that God gives us with the Giving of Christ Rom 8:32

32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

With Him , God also gives us both The will and to do according to His good pleasure" Phil 2:13

13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

This Work of God in us doing this for us is because of the Blood of the Everlasting Covenant Heb 13:20-21

20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Its through Jesus Christ ! That God the Holy Spirit works in us both to will and to do of His Good Pleasure,is because of the Finished Work of Jesus Christ, it makes all the Sheep He died for " Perfect in every good work to do His Will.

To do this[His good pleasure] is not in man by nature, but it must be wrought in us by the Spirit Isa 26:12

Lord, thou wilt ordain peace for us: for thou also hast wrought all our works in us.

Jn 3:21

But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

According to God's good pleasure. It is by His Good pleasure that we will and do of His Good Pleasure. Its not by mans freewill and man has no reason to boast, which freewill religion is nothing but boasting.

Again, to do that which is well pleasing in His Sight, t has been given to us as a Covenant Blessing from the Blood of Christ, the Great Shepherd of the Sheep Heb 13:20-21; Giving us all things and equipping us are the same thing, and all the Sheep for whom He died shall be equipped to live for God's Glory, which this comes through Jesus Christ Our Lord, its the Gift of God Rom 6:23 !

The Resurrection of Christ !

The Resurrection of Christ !

The Resurrection of Christ is a foundational doctrine of the Gospel, and without believing it, we are yet unbelievers and maybe worst, still in our sins. Paul states clearly that the Resurrection of Christ is a Gospel Doctrine 1 Cor 15:1-4

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Especially Vs 4,However believing in Christ's Resurrection is not merely embracing the historical fact of it, but also being persuaded of its significance in the context of His Death. The Resurrection of Christ means a couple of things that are essential to the Gospel Truth.

First, the Resurrection of Christ means that those He died for are not in their sins 1 Cor 15:17

17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.

Yes, God given Faith is only given to those who have no sins charged against them because of Christ's death, who died because of their sins being charged to Him.

Lets read this briefly without the phrase " your faith is vain" and it would read "And if Christ be not raised ye are yet in your sins."

See, that's important because what that tells us is that Christ's Resurrection is proof that those for whom He died, have no sins charged against them, that they are Justified from all their sins before God, based on Christ's death for their sins, which is seen vividly here Rom 4:25

25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

25 Who was betrayed and put to death because of our misdeeds and was raised to secure our justification (our acquittal), [making our account balance and absolving us from all guilt before God].AMP

The Resurrection of Christ is a verification of the Justifying accomplishment for all those whose sins, offenses had been charged to Christ, and He delivered up for them.

The Resurrection of Christ ! 2

The Resurrection of Christ ! 2

Now if this were not true, that His Death has Justified before God, all those He was delivered up for, then consequently He would not have been Justified Himself in the Spirit by being raised from the dead, and hence there is no reason to be given Faith in Him for persuasion of what His Death accomplished. In other words, God only Gives Faith to those whose offences Christ was delivered for, so that they may shall be persuaded that Christ's Death/Blood Justified them See Rom 5:9, and that Hi Resurrection is the proof of the same ! The act of Faith is not what caused one not to be in their sins, but the act of faith is the response of one who has been persuaded that Christ's Blood has caused them not to be in their sins and to be Justified before God's law and Justice.

The Resurrection of Christ ! 3

The Resurrection of Christ ! 3

For God given Faith embraces the fact of a unseen spiritual reality in the Heavenly Legal Realm of God's Throne Heb 9:23

It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

which is one the main reasons to believe the Gospel Truth of the Resurrection of Christ. Another fact about the Resurrection of Christ that is essential to Gospel Preaching, which is that Christ's Resurrection was not for all men without exception, but He was according to Paul's Preaching, He was raised up a Saviour to Israel or God's Elect Acts 13:23

23 Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:

Israel here is the Israel of God Gal 6:16, a Spiritual Israel !

Now understand, whomever Christ died for He was raised for,and whoever He was raised for, He is Raised as their Saviour, so they are Saved, simple as that. Its not that He is their Saviour if they decide to accept Him, or if they let Him be, but that He is their Saviour Period ! That means they have been Saved from all the evil consequences of their sins. Now according to Acts 13:23, A God inspired sermon, for both jews and gentiles [See Acts 13:42] Who was Jesus Christ raised up a Saviour unto ? Was it all mankind without exception ? No, for its plainly stated, it was unto Israel, God's Chosen People in Him,and Paul said that this was according to Promise. There is no other people God has Promised to Save with an Everlasting Salvation [Through Christ] Isa 45:17

17 But Israel shall be saved in the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

To say that Christ died for and therefore raised for all humanity without exception is a lie, not one scripture can attest to that. He was Raised unto Israel a Saviour,a Gospel Truth right here in Paul's Sermon, as He Preached the Gospel !

The Resurrection of Christ ! 4

The Resurrection of Christ ! 4

One may argue, but Jesus Christ is the Saviour of the Whole World Jn 4:42

42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

He is the Saviour of the World in that the Israel He is the Saviour of was not Just ethnic jews. The Israel He is the Saviour of is the Elect of God out of every tongue and nation, The Israel of God. So the World of Jn 4:42 is no different group of people than the Israel here spoken of Acts 13:23

23 Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:

And so if we preach the Resurrection of Christ as being A Saviour to all people[every human being] without exception, then we preach and believe amiss concerning the Resurrection of Christ. Again Look at Paul's Gospel Sermon in Acts 13:23, He is very specific who Christ was raised an Saviour unto according to God's Promise, and So must any God called Preacher be or any testimony of the Death, Burial, and Resurrection of Christ !
