So now every time these fundamentalists see a rainbow, they get angry. That's hilarious. :rotfl:

Perhaps it's a good opportunity for some associative reflex conditioning!

I very well might. But then, certainly Independence Day isn't quite as notable as the Pride Day immediately following the marriage equality ruling at the Supreme Court either.
Wow, that says more about you than it does the supremacy of Independence Day over this rainbow drivel.

Recently, a different usage of the word gay has appeared in Australian English. In addition to the earlier meaning of gay being ‘happy’, ‘carefree’ and ‘frivolous’ (1st meaning), and to a later meaning of gay being synonymous with ‘homosexual’ (2nd meaning), it appears that gay is now being understood by young people to mean ‘stupid’, ‘lame’ or ‘boring’, as in ‘That shirt is so gay’, or ‘How gay is that?’ (3rd meaning).

The marriage equality decision comes about once in the history of the nation. There's an Independence Day every year. And sure, we're celebrating the founding of the nation, but it's going to be the 239th time we've celebrated it.
