But to be honest I don't know what effectual faith is. Could you explain what you mean by that?

Effectual....like causal. Something that affects a thing.

Well I don't know if I would word it like that. I think the fear of God causes good works. I know it does in me. Faith is spiritual strength we get from hearing the Word quoted from the Holy Spirit. Faith comes by hearing not reading.

Rom 10:17

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
