I said
ROFLOL You didn't define believe, you just showed the different uses of it. And eternal life is not free.
Believe means to rely on something for facts. If someone doesn't rely on Jesus for facts they are not a Christian believer.
If they say they are a believer and go else where for facts, their not a believer their a hypocrite.
Shalom.
Today is Chamishi, 11-9. It is Yom, Day.
I suppose I didn't do a good job of defining believe. I did not use the dictionary definition which I am not looking at. I did show some usages or usage, different uses of it as you say. I do not know what you mean by go else where for facts, and not a believer their a hypocrite. Of course we need to go to Jesus for our facts. Believe does not mean rely on something for facts as far as I know.
When you say that eternal life is not free, I do not know where you are getting your information.
Romans 6:22-23 NKJV - 22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 5:15 NKJV - But the free gift [is] not like the offense. For if by the one man's offense many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.
Romans 5:16 NKJV - And the gift [is] not like [that which came] through the one who sinned. For the judgment [which came] from one [offense resulted] in condemnation, but the free gift [which came] from many offenses [resulted] in justification.
Romans 5:18 NKJV - Therefore, as through one man's offense [judgment came] to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's righteous act [the free gift came] to all men, resulting in justification of life.
Romans 2:7 NKJV - eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality;
Romans 5:21 NKJV - so that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:23 NKJV - For the wages of sin [is] death, but the gift of God [is] eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Shalom.
