Most, if not all, of the anti-MAD folks will quote some scripture that supposedly shows that Paul's ministry was not too different from that of the twelve apostles for the twelve tribes. Invariably, they take the verse(s) out of context.
Take this verse as an example:
"See", they will say, "Jesus is OUR" (referring to the body of Christ) "Passover".
What's the problem with this? The US in that passage is NOT the body of Christ. Paul is NOT speaking to the body of Christ as a whole, but to Israelite's.
Back up a few verses and this becomes abundantly clear.
Take this verse as an example:
1Cor 5:7 (AKJV/PCE)
(5:7) Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
"See", they will say, "Jesus is OUR" (referring to the body of Christ) "Passover".
What's the problem with this? The US in that passage is NOT the body of Christ. Paul is NOT speaking to the body of Christ as a whole, but to Israelite's.
Back up a few verses and this becomes abundantly clear.
1Cor 5:1 (AKJV/PCE)
(5:1) It is reported commonly [that there is] fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father's wife.
There are many other places in Paul's epistles that Paul speaks directly to HIS people Israel.
