How To Know For Sure That You Are Saved

Yes, the Gospel - good news - really is awesome, instead of awful! And clearly, to be born in sin is awful and that's no good news. No wonder, the wisest man who ever lived said:

I do believe that you are anti-Gospel and anti-Christ.

Looks more like otherwise. You don't believe in Christ's words, so your gospel is anti-Christ. Christ EMPHATICALLY explained thru the parables of the lost sheep, lost coin and lost son that people start out in life NOT lost. Yet you don't believe Him.

Before the sheep got lost, it was with its shepherd; before the coin was lost, it was with its owner; before the son went lost, he was with his father. So with us sinners. We were born NOT lost. And to be NOT lost is to be in Christ.

Sadly, we strayed from our Shepherd, our Owner, our Father. He is now calling us to repent - overcome evil with good.

And you Pate, has yet to overcome the evil of NOT believing in Christ's words that people start out in life NOT lost.

So everyone is born in Christ? The Bible says that everyone is lost, without exception. Why is it 100%?

Which organization do you belong to: JW, CS, LDS?

You have a very strange and anti-Biblical view.

The reason that the sheep strayed from the shepherd is because the sheep was a born sinner. Or he never would have strayed in the first place.

If you were born in Christ you would have the Holy Spirit, who is the Christians keeper. The Holy Spirit keeps us from falling away. We are sanctified by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is God's mark of ownership. Once we receive the Holy Spirit we are eternally sealed, Ephesians 1:13.

You want us to believe that God withdraws his Holy Spirit from us when we first sin. The Bible teaches no such thing. We are not born with the Holy Spirit, we are born in sin just like King David, Psalm 51:5. And need to be born again, 1 Peter 1:23.

To receive the Holy Spirit you must hear and believe the Gospel, Just like on the day of Pentecost Acts 2.

Originally, the shepherd had 100 sheep. He lost one.
Originally, the owner had 10 pieces of coins. She lost one.
Originally, the father had 2 sons. He lost one.

Originally, the lost are with its shepherd, owner and father. Hence, we - the lost - are originally with the Lord God - our Shepherd, Owner and Father, and therefore NOT lost, originally. And to be NOT lost is to be in Christ, originally.

This truth glares the eyes of RP & RD they cannot see it.

Salvation is not a think so, salvation is a know so.

If you are not sure that you are saved, it may be because you are not. Religion causes people to doubt their salvation because religion is subjective. The Calvinist is always wondering, "Have I been predestinated, am I really one of the chosen ones?" In Catholicism the question is "Am I good enough, am I doing enough good works?" All religions are subjective and cause a person to introspect themselves to see if they are saved. As long as you do this you will never be confident that you are saved, Everyone is a sinner. If you are looking for some merit within yourself, such as your Christian life, you will never have assurance of your salvation.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is objective, that is it took place totally and completely outside of us. We had nothing, absolutely nothing to do with the Gospel. It is so far outside of us that it happened over 2000 years ago before we were born. The Gospel does not concern us, the Gospel is about Jesus Christ and what he has done in our name and on our behalf. Paul wrote, "While we were yet sinners Christ died for us". In the Gospel, Jesus comes into the world as God's new Adam and our representative. His mission was to do for humanity what humanity could not do for its self. In our name and on our behalf Jesus offers to God the Father a life of perfect obedience according to God's Holy Law. It was HIS life that was lived for our justification, Romans 3:26.

That was not enough. Something had to be done about our sins and the sins of the whole world. "For he has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him" 2 Corinthians 5:21. Jesus in our name and on our behalf atones for our sins and the sins of the whole world, 1 John 2:2.

The law has been fulfilled for us. Our sins have been atoned for us. Because of the doing and the dying of Jesus we have been justified and reconciled to God, 2 Corinthians 5:18, 19. We had nothing, absolutely nothing to do with what Jesus has done in the Gospel. We are the benefactors of the Gospel, not the instigators of the Gospel. When God accepted Jesus back into heaven we were accepted in him. Our real life is hid with Christ in God, Colossians 3:3. Because of the doing and the dying of Jesus we stand before God as complete in Christ, Colossians 2:10.

This Gospel becomes ours by simple child like faith in Christ and his Gospel, plus nothing. No religion needed. If you still need Calvinism, Catholicism or some other religion, then you are not really trusting in Christ and HIS Gospel. You are trusting in yourself and your religion for your salvation, which will cause you to doubt if you are really saved.

How to know for sure that we are saved.

To know for sure that we are saved, we simply need to set things right with the Lord so that our sins from scarlet red become as white as snow through repentance and obedience to God's Law. (Isaiah 1:18,19) Or... to listen to "Moses" aka the Law. (Luke 16:29-31)

The law should tell you that you have failed to live up to the glory of God.

"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23.

Are you going to stand before God in the judgment and tell him that you have kept his Holy Law?

You teach that sinners are saved by works of law. What is the difference between you and that poster ? None

The law does not save, the law condemns.

To not be "In Christ" is to be under the law.

The only way that you can be "In Christ" is to trust in him alone for your salvation, guess that leaves you out.

The glory of God is enhanced only by those who obey His Law. Indeed, all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, including Jesus who broke the Golden Rule 15 times only in the text of Mat. 23:13-33 when he offended the Pharisees with terms like hypocrites and brood of vipers. Would he have liked to be addressed as a hypocrite and brood of vipers? I don't think so. The Golden Rule covers the whole second part of the Decalogue. Righteous transgressions mind you!

Those who are under the Law they obey the Law and are saved of all troubles as a result of transgressing the Law. If you are among those who claim faith or grace, are you going to stand before the Judge in a Court of Law and tell him that Jesus has died for you? Try to see where this will take you.Perhaps into a hospital of insane people.

Salvation is not a think so, salvation is a know so.

Nothing more than a cliche produced by 'easy believism'.

Paul says to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, which means to not assume you are so holy that a grave sin won't mean perdition.
And the thing is, as well, people don't know their own hearts. Only God does, and there could very well be something inherent in anybody that has yet to be realized, dormant and waiting.

The Lord has said you can do NOTHING when apart from Him. You keep on insisting on what is clearly against the words of our Savior. How can one do the act of trusting when he is apart from Him Who said one can do NOTHING when still apart from and therefore NOT yet in Him?

Samie, none of those parables is meant to completely 100% accurate to the situation for lostness.

I know that will be unacceptable to you... but tough.

They are examples of how much God cares for the lost and not that everyone starts out found.

The shepherd in the example had only 1% lost sheep. In real life, 99.99% of Israel was lost.

To quote one of the posters in another forum, "I cannot force you to be right", RD. I understand resiliency to change especially if one had for long believed in what he knew was truth.

Your 1% comparing the lost to 99.9% of Israel as being lost, is inaccurate. The coin was 10% of the total. The lost son was 50% of the total. These tell us the emphasis is not in the figures but in the situation of the subjects in the parables. They started out NOT lost.

You are right that the Lord's parables of the lost are accurate in depicting God's love for man. But instead of "found", people start out in life NOT lost. "Found" comes after one is lost.

God made man upright, as Solomon correctly quipped. God's saving Adam that day he fell into sin, saved Adam in Christ (Acts 4:12). With Adam in Christ, all his descendants are born in Christ. And to be born in Christ is to be born NOT lost.

How To Know For Sure That You Are Saved

The first hint must be: To have and hold a belief that is not shared by many people because salvation is for the few who actually know the truth that sets one free:

Matthew: 7 King James Version (KJV)
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

This means that truth will be the weirdest thing for the masses.

Traditional beliefs must be totally wrong. Also all other beliefs that are shared by more than a few people must also be wrong.

The first hint that you are save is that you hold and live by weirdo beliefs that are held and lived by a few other weirdos.

Do I get a passing grade for my answer?
