Isaiah 64: 8. But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand. 9. Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, neither remember iniquity for ever: behold, see, we beseech thee, we are all thy people. 10. Thy holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation. 11. Our holy and our beautiful house, where our fathers praised thee, is burned up with fire: and all our pleasant things are laid waste. 12. Wilt thou refrain thyself for these things, O LORD? wilt thou hold thy peace, and afflict us very sore?

Isaiah 65: 1. I am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called by my name. 2. I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts; 3. A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick; 4. Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels; 5. Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day. 6. Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom, 7. Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom. 8. Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all. 9. And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there. 10. And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me. 11. But ye are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number. 12. Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not. 13. Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed: 14. Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit. 15. And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord GOD shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name: 16. That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes. 17. For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. 18. But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. 19. And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying. 20. There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed. 21. And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. 22. They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. 23. They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them. 24. And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. 25. The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.

Pops, please stop merely posting parts of the Bible.

Highlight in some ways what you want to draw to our attention and also give an explanation.

We all have Bibles!

God does change.

Is it possible for God to tell one person to do one thing, and another person to do something else? Does that happen in the Bible?

UNBELIEVABLE!!!

You say God does not change, but you say we don't have to do what He says to the Jews?!

Anyone who wants to be saved now and after they die, they will have to obey Jesus before he comes again, because he comes as a thief in the night AND YOU BETTER BE READY.

So GOD is without change and no respecter of persons but HIS commands change depending on what people he is speaking to?

According to you He says different things to different races of people!

According to you He only speaks to those who are in their flesh.

You are wrong on both accounts.

Says the worker bee who can never rest in Jesus.

I am resting in Christ and it feels great trusting everything he says.

You go against everything he says except for the word believe and have faith.

Believe what?

Have faith in what?

You preach against believing we have to forgive and repent!

We are to believe in everything Jesus says.

We are to believe that we have to obey.

So the criminal on the cross didn't have a relationship with God? Because he didn't do anything other than die...

You don't learn do you?

How many times have I told you that the thief on the cross obeyed?

The one thief on the cross feared God; God’s salvation is near those who fear Him.

The thief on the cross believed Jesus; the work of God is to believe in the one He sent.

The thief on the cross humbled himself. God pleads with people to be humble or they will never enter.

The thief admitted his sins, this is confession; he also admitted he deserved his punishment, that is regret and repentance for his sin.

The thief on the cross confessed Jesus in front of others; Jesus says whoever acknowledges him before others, he will also acknowledge before his Father in heaven.

The thief also called on the name of the Lord, when he told Jesus to remember him when he got to his kingdom. The Bible says for us to call on the name of the Lord after repenting of our sins.

God knows our hearts, Acts 15:8.

The Bible says His salvation is near all those who fear him, see Psalm 85:9.

God says these are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word. See Isaiah 66:2.

We are to believe and confess, trust in God, call on the name of the Lord, See Romans 10:10, 11, and 13.

Matthew 10:32 “Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven.

One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Christ? Save yourself and us!” Luke 23:39. But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.” Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Luke 23:40-43. Jesus answered him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Nope. That's not what I said.

I said we should obey that which is commanded of us. And I also said that we shouldn't do that which God tells others to do.

You are not honest. You preach against our obeying the teachings of Christ.

Tell us RIGHT NOW WHAT WE are to obey that Jesus taught.

Tell us right now what we are to obey that Paul taught.

Preach that obedience that you say you don't go against.

Let's hear it now.

Um, what? Read what I wrote again, please.

God does change.

Nope. One must simply believe to be saved. Obedience comes as a result of believing.

You think there's some sort of guidelines for loving someone?

No wonder you're a legalist.

You are so ensnared.

Tell me how is it that you think that loving your neighbor sums up the WHOLE LAW AND THE PROPHETS?

Jesus is telling us by saying that that obeying is how we love our neighbor.

Paul says love is to do your neighbor no harm.

That is how we love your neighbor.

We do not murder our neighbor. We do not steal, lie about and commit adultery with out neighbor.

If you do not do those things, then you are obeying at least four things that Jesus teaches.

Is it possible for God to tell one person to do one thing, and another person to do something else? Does that happen in the Bible?
James 1: 17. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

1 Peter 1: 17. And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: 18. Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19. But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20. Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 21. Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God. 22. Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: 23. Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. 24. For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: 25. But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

James 3: 17. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Hebrews 12: 13. And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed. 14. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: 15. Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; 16. Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. 17. For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears. 18. For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest, 19. And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more: 22. But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, 23. To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24. And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. 25. See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: 26. Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. 27. And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. 28. Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: 29. For our God is a consuming fire.

GT, Let's imagine a married couple for a moment:

The husband owns a car, and the wife owns a car. Let's say the wife's car is in the shop and she has to borrow her husband's car. So she gets in the driver's seat and flips down the visor to look for the keys and finds a note he addressed to himself that says this:

"REMEMBER: Don't commit adultery with your secretary."

Question GT:

How would that note make the wife feel? Would she feel good after finding that note?
