I AM shocked that violence causes anger, grief and revenge fantasies.

The reason people act violently towards others is because they have not yet learned to process their own suffering and so act it out onto others.

Some say the Left may consider this their last shot at concentrated political power for a long time, and so is pulling out all the stops: state-run healthcare, illegal amnesty, selecting special protected groups and deliberately keeping race fires stoked. Racists on both sides will ignore the facts. Most police officers aren't brutal; many were appalled by the killing of a man for selling cigarettes illegally. The president condemned the killing of the officers, as did the AG. Most black New Yorkers didn't want those officer killed; they just want to be safe in their own city. It doesn't matter to racists. They've already sorted it out their way.

And in doing so, they perpetuate the violence.

No. That's half of the problem. This lunatic killed two officers who apparently had no role in the earlier killing. And even if they had, murder wasn't the way to deal with it. Hence, the condemnation of the murders by everyone from the president on down.
