Ah! When I was in high school and worked at Chick-fil-a, my boss used to say that all the time!
I'd be serving a customer, he'd come up behind me and say to the person, "Tom hasn't been giving you any of his tomfoolery has he?" Then, the customer would proceed to be confused and never come back.
