God And Job And Suffering: All Is Well That Ends Well

We hear a lot about God and Job's sufferings. The book of Job has 42 chapters
and some 99% of the verses talk about Job's sufferings. However nobody
knows how long Job suffered and some interpreters think it was a relatively
short time. Some think Job suffered for a few months and others think Job
suffered only for days.

To the best of my knowledge all the events in the book of Job could have occurred
within 30 days. If so, then Job suffered a very short time.

But here is even better news: After Job suffered and endured his testing, God, in
His Mercy and Grace gave Job MORE than he had before he was tested, and then
God gave Job 140 years of the good life.

Its reasonable to believe {based on the narrative in Job 42} they were a happy and
blessed 140 years.

"The Lord blessed the latter part of Job’s life more than the former part." Job 42:12

"After this, Job lived a hundred and forty years; he saw his children and their children
to the fourth generation. And so Job died, an old man and full of years." Job 42:16-17

Bildad correctly predicted the happy restoration of Job when he said:
"He {God} will yet fill your mouth with laughter
and your lips with shouts of joy." Job 8:12

So?

So God's Mercy and Grace restored Job and he had MORE blessings than
he previously enjoyed and then God gave Job 140 happy good years. And
even more important than that, God gave Job eternal life in Heaven. Job was
an Old Testament believer that reaped the benefits of the blessing of John 3:16
which says that God loved the world and gave His one and only Son that whoever
believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

God restored Job and God has a Plan to restore the world. God has a Plan to
fix the world that men have messed up. What kind of Plan is it? The Cross. What
kind of Person is God? The kind of Person that will die on a Cross because He
loves the world and desires to restore it. So what kind of Person is God? The kind
of Person that leads from the front, where the pain is.

As we continue to be faithful to God as Job was, anything and everything that Satan throws against us can and will be overcome.

Job overcame his fears and thus was able to believe God again.

Job recognized that his fears was the opening that allow Satan to ruin his life. Job 3:25

This is not the lesson of Job. The lesson of Job is "though He slay me, I will trust in Him".

The Christian life is not about God fixing things, it is about trusting Him in a world that is broken.
Then if you were a loser before you came to believe God, then you are still a loser, not a more than conqueror as Romans 8:37 states

Only a pervert, like you, would claim that being "more than a conqueror" has something to do with receiving more than what we already have in Christ.

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written:

“For Your sake we are killed all day long;
We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Paul is clearly encouraging his readers that no matter what happens to them in this life, they can never lose what they have received in Christ, that which is eternal. Our hope is in that which we cannot see, our treasure is in heaven, not in this world.

Those who want more than Jesus have never met Jesus.

Demonstrate Job's fears from the book of Job.

Job 2:3 And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.*n1
4 And Satan answered the Lord, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life.
5 But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.
6 And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life.*n2
7 ¶So went Satan forth from the presence of the Lord, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.
8 And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself withal; and he sat down among the ashes.
9 ¶Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die.
10 But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

So, where did Job stop believing in God because of fear? I see no fear in the entire book of Job. At the end of the book God praises Job for telling the truth about Him while Job's three friends did not tell the truth about God.

God Himself completely destroys your baseless assertions.

Well, why did you contradict yourself?

If you were a loser before you believed, then having believed, God fixed that and made you to be a more than conqueror!

If you were a loser before you came to believe, then God fixed that by making us triumphant in Christ! II Corinthians 2:14

Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

Those who have not believed, will perish, but God fixes that by the gift of eternal life, salvation.

If we were tormented and our minds overwhelmed with troubles, God fixes that when we pray, Philippians 4:6-7

Phl 4:6

Be careful [anxious] for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Phl 4:7
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Whenever we fear we can go to God to overcome our fears who will fix us up so that we need not fear.

Psa 34:4
I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

All the challenges we face God can fix when we allow him to by our believing His promises

Job, like so many modern Christians, did not understand some things about God, but he never lost faith in God.

Satan cannot touch Christians without God's permission, and God does not use Satan to destroy Christians but to help them grow.

Define "loser." You are aware that Paul suffered the loss of all things for serving Christ (Philippians 3:8?)

That is demonstrated in Job, for sure. However, it is not because God wishes us evil or is the cause of suffering but because God is just. God allowed Satan to mess up Job's life because of Job's fears. If you believe you receive, if you fear, which is negative believing, you also receive, but negative results

Loser as in opposition to victor or winner or one who triumphs over evil

Indeed Paul suffered the loss of all things, but he did so in exchange of something far greater

Philippians 3:8-10

8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
9 And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom."

There's nothing inherently negative about fearing something, especially not God.

For example, if you are climbing a mountain, having a fear of cornices will deter, if not prevent, you from going too close to the edge of a cliff with snow on it, and subsequently falling to your death.

In the same way, a proper fear of God leads to a good relationship with Him.

Indeed.

Fear in the KJV, in the old Engllish of the KJV, could be understood as reverence or respect. It is recognition of the superiority of another. The enemies of the Lord God should fear, be afraid of God's power and authority, however a believer would have a positive sense of respect or reverence or a sense of awe at God's power and authority....

When we learn to revere, respect, love and have sense of awe to God that indeed is the beginning of wisdom

God was not punishing Job because of his fears or lack of faith. Neither was God putting Job through tough circumstances just to teach him lessons. God allowed Satan to hurt Job to teach millions of sinners who followed how to turn to God for protection and deliverance from evil which will come to everyone born into the world even as Job correctly said in Job 5:7, "All men are born unto trouble as the sparks fly upward." You are correct, however, in pointing out that God uses troubles in every Christian's life to help the Christian grow, to teach him of the goodness and mercy of God, and to teach him how to completely trust God for good no matter what happens.

Yes

Fear and trembling referring to respect and awe.

The old English needs to be understood according to the definition of the times that the old English was used
