Since we're on the subject of free will, I wonder if any of you who believe in destiny (i.e. predestination or whatever you want to call it) would answer a question...
What's the big deal exactly about people being able to choose? Where the threat? Why is it so critical that the notion of a free will be false?
Do you believe that God could have made us with a free will or do you believe that there is something fundamental about the nature of God that makes the notion of free will a complete non-starter?
His Word!
Bottom line is, it's not what man wills, but what God wills!
Dan. 4:35
And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing:
and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven,
and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand,
or say unto him, What doest thou?
It was not God's will or desire to show His Mercy on all mankind Job. 23:13
Rom. 9:22-23
What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known,
endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy,
which he had afore prepared unto glory
