Forgiveness of sins is Justification, for by it, everyone for whom Christ died, by His death/blood alone, even while they are enemies, are forgiven, and thus Justified from all guilt and punishment and penalty of sin, for remission of sins is the remission of the penalty of sin, and ones act of believing DID NOT ACCOMPLISH THAT OR CONTRIBUTE TO IT ! Matt 26:28

28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

The word remission Aphesis

release from bondage or imprisonment
forgiveness or pardon, of sins (letting them go as if they had never been committed), remission of the penalty

This is huge !

This means they're sins are let go as though they never have been committed, which would go back to the very first sin committed in Adam, so again their is a remission of the penalty of death and unbelief, because unbelief is an imprisonment.

So all for whom Christ died, by His DEATH/BLOOD alone, are once and for all eternally Justified from all sins, its penalty, wages, consequences BEFORE THEY BELIEVE ! and that is why the must believe !

Show me any defintion of "justification" that says it means forgiveness, scriptural or dictionary.

Your citation of Matt 26:28 does not say it means forgiveness. The justification WAS FOR the forgiveness of sins.

Your statement of
So all for whom Christ died, by His DEATH/BLOOD alone, are once and for all eternally Justified from all sins, its penalty, wages, consequences BEFORE THEY BELIEVE ! and that is why the must believe !
would be a new definition of Universalism. Christ atoned for the sin of the world. It NEVER says He forgave the sins of the world.
He never says in Rom 5:6-10 that He forgave the sins of all sinners. That again would be a new definition of Universalism. Faith would be meaningless as would everything else written especially in the NT.

Eph. 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

The Lord bless you for faithfully declaring the Truth of His Word!

~~~~~
Which is not only incorrect, but a contradiction besides.
If Christ forgave the sins for all those for whom He died, then what is belief for? It does absolutely nothing.
Must save from Unbelief to be a success !
Must save from Unbelief to be a success !
Christ's Mission is to deliver those He died for from Unbelief/Disobedience, that which Adam plunged them into as their natural Covenant head Rom 5:19
19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
Or we can say with the same veracity Rom 5:19
19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made disobedient, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
And if those He died for are not delivered from that disobedience or unbelief, then Christ failed His Purpose for God the Father to save His People from their sins Matt 1:21 and to seek and to save that which was lost in Adam Lk 19:10.
Now, all the Elect/Sheep were delivered to unbelief and disobedience by the Judgment of God for their sin in Adam, however it was for an merciful purpose, hence Paul writes to jew and Gentile Election of Grace this Rom 11:32
32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all .
God hath concluded them all in Unbelief ! The word concluded is the greek word Sugkleio and means:
to shut up together, enclose of a shoal of fishes in a net
to shut up on all sides, shut up completely,so to deliver one up to the power of a person or thing that he is completely shut in, as it were, without means of escape
All the Elect of God, [jew and gentile] are shut up into the power of satan and held captive under unbelief and disobedience for the purpose of God having saving mercy on them Titus 3:5 !
Must save from Unbelief to be a success 2
Must save from Unbelief to be a success 2
All men even the Elect of God, when unbelievers we are being, we are in a Lost state, an imprisoned state, we cannot believe the Gospel in that lost state because at that time its being hid 2 Cor 4:3-4
3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
Believing not or unbelief means lostness ! We cannot believe the Gospel in a Lost state because of the activity of the devil blinding our minds to the Truth !
Jesus mentions it here also Lk 8:12
12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
So unbelief, disobedience is an imprisonment, but Christ as the Covenant given to the People, His responsibility is this Isa 42:6-7
6 I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
7 To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.
This effects Faith and Obedience !
Christ's work is to effect by bringing out the prisoners from the prison, for they are the prisoners of Hope Zech 9:11-12
11 As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.
12 Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare that I will render double unto thee;
They are brought out of the prison of unbelief/disobedience Rom 11:32, and if that does not happen for each one He died for, and anyone of them ends up like one of these Jn 8:24
24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
One that believed not and died in their sins, then Christ has failed His Covenant Responsibility Isa 42:6-7 to the Father, now how many of us want to concede to calling Christ a failure ? That's exactly what we are guilty of if even one for whom He died, shed His Blood for, die in unbelief and in their sins !
What is the first resurrection ?
What is the first resurrection ?
John writes in Rev 20:4-6
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
The First Resurrection I believe is Threefold #1 It consisteth in na legal Resurrection in Christ from the dead at the same time He was raised from the dead after having been delivered for our offecences,if indeed He died for us Rom 4:25
25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
All for whom sins He was delivered for, were legally raised up together with Him Eph 2:6
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
Isa 26:19
19 Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.
And as the fruit of that Resurrection legally they partake of a #2 Spirutla Resurrection from Spiritual Death Eph 2:5 which is but an application unto them of having been legally resurrected with Christ when He was raised from the dead, and #3 it means that the Saints who died during their lifetime , be it through natural death or persecution as beheading, they were raised immediately into the presence of the Lord as indicated by Paul here 2 Cor 5:8
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
Yet these things we believe is what constitute the First Resurrection, and all such the Second Death hath no Power, for they shall never come into Condemnation !
Covenant Promise to Abraham and Seed !
Covenant Promise to Abraham and Seed !
The Covenant Promise God made to Abraham and his seed regarding the possession of Canaan for everlasting Gen 17:8 is by Paul in the NT expanded upon to mean the World Rom 4:13
13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.
And his seed included Gentiles Rom 4:16,17
16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law[jews], but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham[gentiles]; who is the father of us all,
17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
And this should not be a big suprise, since even when that specific promise was made to Abraham, it was right after God declaring of him a Father of many nations, and when his name was changed from abram to Abraham Gen 17:5
5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
So in actuality his Name Abraham is given to him in the connection of him being a Father of many nations, not just of the jews !
So then comes Gen 17:8
8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.
And Paul refers back to Gen 17:5 in Rom 4:17
17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations Gen 17:5,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.
Hence the Seed of Abraham in Gen 17:8
8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.
coincides with the Seed of Abraham here Rom 4:16
16 Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law[jews], but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham[gentiles]; who is the father of us all [ jew and gentile people of faith],
Which is made clear that the Seed does include Gentiles. So now this is the reason for his expanding the Everlasting Possession of Canaan from Gen 17:8 to be understood as the World in Rom 4:13,16-17 !
Now if in light of this, we still believe that the Promise of Gen 17:8 is for ethnic israel as a nation, then God has purposely sent us a strong delusion to believe a lie, which is a serious omen that He does not Love us, but that we are abiding under His hate and condemnation !
To say that an unregenerate person can obey the Command of God to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ is a lie for Acts 16:31
30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Now understand, this believing is in regards to Salvation, to be saved, and the word believe here is pisteuó and its an:
Tense: Aorist
Mood: Imperative
Voice: Active
Imperative in the greek is defined as:
The imperative mood is a command or instruction given to the hearer, charging the hearer to carry out or perform a certain action.
Its a command here 1 Jn 3:23
23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.
So this is to say in essence that an unregenerate person has the ability to Love God, for obeying God's Commands is an evidence of Love to God and His Christ Per Jn 14:15,21
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
1 Jn 5:3
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
And it is, we believe on Him only after the Spirit reveals God's Love to us by Giving His Son on our behalf Jn 3:16 ! So Our Believing is an act of response of our Love, for we Love Him because He First Loved us 1 Jn 4:19
19 We love him, because he first loved us. Our believing is under the influence of God's Love upon our regenerated hearts Rom 5:5, unless we say that an unregenerated heart, out of an principle of Law, obeyed the Commandment to believe on the Name of the Son of God !
Faith and Love go together in Jesus Christ, this is seen in Paul's conversion 1 Tim 1:13-14
13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
14 And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
Jn 16:27
For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.
1 Pet 1:8
8 Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
Faith and Love are both fruit of the Spirit Gal 5:22
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
2 Cor 5:14-15
14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
The word constraineth is the greek word sunechó and means:
(a) I press together, close, (b) I press on every side, confine, (c) I hold fast, (d) I urge, impel, (e) pass: I am afflicted with (sickness).
This means that it , Love of Christ/ God is that which incites to action, imparts motion to !
Remember that Believing on Christ is an Imperative which means :
The imperative mood is a command or instruction given to the hearer, charging the hearer to carry out or perform a certain action.
We can perform this action without it being legalistic only as its a response to having our Hearts incited by the Love of God from Holy Spirit having poured it out in our hearts which is New Birth Rom 5:5
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Without this, the carnal heart is not subject to the Law / Command of God Rom 8:7-8
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
Now Paul again makes it clear that the Promise to Abraham in Gen 17:8 was not to him and his seed after the law [national israel] that entered into the land of canaan under Joshua Rom 4:13,14 ; Gal 3:18 because to remain in that land was conditioned on national obedience to the siani covenant, whereas the Abrahamic Promise of an Eternal Canaan for an Everlasting Possession/Inheritance, was an Unconditional Promise to remain in that Possession forever, which Promise is fulfilled and consummated in Christ, Abraham's Spiritual and not biological Seed Gal 3:16
16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
A Major flaw !
A Major flaw !
A Major flaw in the dispensational system [an anti christ system of teaching] of interpreting scripture, particularly OT prophecies to God's Chosen People Israel [Who is the Church of Christ under that dispensation] is that they reject the Apostles of the NT and their application of those prophecies and promises fulfilled in Christ and His Church, the NT Body of Christ; For the Apostles compliment the OT Prophets Eph 2:20 of which Christ was the revealed to be the cornerstone of Faith Isa 8:14-16
14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
15 And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.
16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
Isa 28:16
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
These are brought together by Peter 1 Peter 2:6-8
6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
Peter reinterprets !
Peter reinterprets !
Peter reinterprets Gods Abrahamic Covenant Promise of the Everlasting Possession of Canaan as to be a world wide Inheritance 2 Pet 3:13
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. See Isa 65:17;66:22 !
This is what Abraham looked for by Faith Heb 11:8-16
8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
12 Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.
13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.
15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.
16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
Is Faith a condition for Salvation ?
Is Faith a condition for Salvation ?
Yes and No, for if we mean is faith a condition to be saved eternally from the penalty of sin, and to be Justified from all sin before God, the answer is absolutely NO ! If we mean is faith an condition in order to have self evidence of Salvation, and Justification before God in our own consciousness/minds, then Yes indeed, God given Faith is a condition for that assurance ! But now as we consider Faith as an condition for our legal standing of not guilty, and Justified from all sin and punishment before God, we then cross the line and come into a danger zone, because faith is an act, and its mans act, and since we do it, its our work, even though its an act or work that only the New Man can act or do ! The natural man cannot even do it at all ! But the issue at hand is far more serious, because we are being told by false teachers on every hand, that the act of believing [a work] from the old man [unregenerate] of sin Eph 4:22
That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
Were told that this act of believing by this old deceitful man is what saved one from the legal penalty of their sin, which makes this act of the old man that legal act which saved him from the penalty of his sins, instead of the Legal merits of Christ's Death and Blood alone !
The only way man can give Christ's Death all the Credit it deserves for the salvation of our souls from the penalty of eternal death for all our sins, to include unbelief, is to acknowledge that we had this free gift of Justification before God, based on Christ alone, while we were yet unbelieving, ungodly, and enemies in our hearts, even hating God, if we cannot acknowledge that, we automatically default into Justification/ Salvation by our works, something we do or have done !
Made alive when dead in Sin !
Made alive when dead in Sin !
Gospel Truths of the Gospel of God will never be understood and embraced by the antichrist religionist, such as this one, That the Chosen of God in Christ Eph 1:4, that all of them were quickened or made Alive together with Christ in the Divine Purpose of God, His Reckoning, even when they were dead in sin, so it is by Grace they were saved Eph 2:5-6
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved )
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
Vs 6 here is True of the Church of God, even when individually we are born into this world dead in sin, and by nature, children of wrath as others Eph 2:3 !
In Eph 2:5, what is meant by " (by grace ye are saved )" It means they are were individually in Christ legally saved from the penalty of their sins and the power of death because of their sins ! Death reigned briefly over them in Christ Rom 6:9
9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead[and the Church with Him] dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him[and His Church, His Body].
The whole Church of God was legally saved from the Penalty of sin and its Power to condemn, because in the Purpose and Reckoning of God we were raised up together with Christ, when He was raised for Our Justification from sin Rom 4:25
25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for[because of ] our justification.
This being raised again from the dead was as He was the Head and Representative of His Body the Church, those whom offences He had been delivered for as Head and Represenative !
So when He was quickened from the dead 1 Pet 3:18
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:
The word for quickened here which denotes Christ Resurrection is the same greek word used in Eph 2:5 zōopoieō and means:
II.to cause to live, make alive, give life,B.to restore to life
So when the Spirit quickened Christ from the Dead 1 Pet 3:18 so were we raised up together with Him[Eph 2:5-6] from the dead if He died for Us !
So, we were collectively made alive in Christ and seated in the Heavenlies, even while we enter into this world dead in trespasses and sins, and our by nature children of wrath even as others, so its by Grace we were saved !
who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will
who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will
This something to know about the decretive Will of God Eph 1:11
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
This Will of God is Supreme over all, for by it He willed the things and acts that go against His preceptive will, His moral will, He decreed the wicked acts of all men, even everything that cometh to past, rape of women, molestation of children, He decreed all evil, all things are according to His Predestinated Will !
Natural man rejects God's indictment of him !
Natural man rejects God's indictment of him !
The natural man does not agree with God's Word on his total depravity and his naturally hard evil heart by natue. One of the Key Doctrines of the Gospel of the Grace of God is what is called the T in TULIP, Total Depravity, which informs us of the natural mans plight , even his inability to do any good thing towards God, and hence, one of the reasons for God's Sovereign Grace, Paul describes the plight of the natural man in Rom 3:10-18
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips:
14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness:
15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:
16 Destruction and misery are in their ways:
17 And the way of peace have they not known:
18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.
And Jeremiah describes the natural heart of mankind Jer 17:9
9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
Also this is quite serious, because the word desperately is the hebrew word 'anash which means:
i.
to be incurable
ii.
to be sick
iii.
desperate, incurable, desperately wicked, woeful, very sick (pass participle) (metaph.)
B.
(Niphal) to be sick
That it is incurable means that it is not subject to change
And Jer 17:9 is stating no more about the condition of the human heart by nature than was stated here centuries before Gen 6:5
5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
The natural man does not believe this statement about the heart of man !
And this condition of our heart by nature is irreparable, its incorrigible, and mans heart in this condition cannot perform repentance towards God Rom 2:5
5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
Impenitent heart literally means "I.admitting no change of mind" its incapable of Repentance Toward God as exhorted here Acts 20:21
21 Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
The natural heart of man is not able to respond favorably to this God's Command Acts 17:30
30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
The natural heart of man we all have by nature cannot repent or change. Man by nature when it comes to a Godward reform is without any good dispositions towards Him Rom 3:12, and not able to make any God Honoring amendment of life towards God, we are hopelessly evil [by nature], and this truth is extremely distasteful to the natural man and the pride of his heart,but its a necessary Truth in the Gospel of God !
Arminaians make God Unjust !
Arminaians make God Unjust !
If God was to punish for sin or anything else anyone Christ died for, I mean for anything, unbelief / disobedience Jn 8:24, then God would be Unjust, because He in Fact would be punishing a perfectly Righteous Person, simply because everyone He hath died for, His Obedience alone, His Obedience even unto death Phil 2:8 made them perfectly Righteous Rom 5:19
19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
And so God would be Guilty of this very thing Abraham mentioned here Gen 18:23-26
23 And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?
24 Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?
25 That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
26 And the Lord said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.
If any for whom Christ died be in this number Matt 7:23 ; 25:41 then God would be Unjust for destroying the Righteous with the Wicked ! All of you who teach that those Christ has died for shall go to hell, you are teaching God to be Unjust !
Those who teach that Christ died for people who are yet going to hell for any reason to be punished for anything whatsover as these Matt 25:41; 7:23 they make God Unjust in that He is to everlastingly punish those who have been been Permanently Sanctified by the Death of Christ and Perfected forever Heb 10:10,14
10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering[Meaning His Death] of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
14 For by one offering [Meaning His Death] he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
For any of these He died for to be punished for anything, God is Unjust !
