No, the rise of FaceBook killed it, along with Knight losing interest and ending traditions that sponsored a feeling of community here. But even if he'd had the interest and will it would have diminished. Every time we changed formats we lost options, little things that made the joint special, cutting corners and expenses. Eventually, competition from more mainstream social media outlets, places where people could find themselves surrounded by friends instead of being ridiculed by the old guard and having to carve out a niche during a deluge of harassment, were too appealing and easy and protective.

So as we lost quality potential members and longstanding members to those outlets and it kept us from replenishing our losses. Ideology didn't kill the joint, methodology did.
